Speaking at the end of the meeting, Mr. Picardo said: "It's fantastic to see the Ince's Hall so full of members supporting the work of the party in government. We have passed motions on things that matter to people like housing and public finance and, in particular, the unshakable commitment of the party to the protection of the sovereignty of Gibraltar. As we go into the final stretches of the negotiation for a future UK EU treaty as a government, it's great to have the party's support for a safe secure and beneficial agreement, should we be able to reach one. ROYAL GIBRALTAR REGIMENT FIRE 21 GUN SALUTE TO CELEBRATE KING CHARLES III’S BIRTHDAY
Earlier today, the Royal Gibraltar Regiment’s Headquarter Company conducted a Royal Gun Salute to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the King at HM Naval Base, Gibraltar.
The ceremony began with a formal reception of Minister Nigel Feetham by Royal Gibraltar Regiment’s Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Moore.
Following the inspection and confirming the readiness of the gun detachments, Lt Col Moore escorted Minister Feetham to a central vantage point where they were able to view the Gun Salute.
At exactly 12:00, Gun Position Officer, Major Smith called out for the first of the twenty one rounds to be fired.
On completion of the gun salute, Minister Feetham was invited to sign the Inspecting Officer’s book before being presented with a Shell.
