MoD Oracle is a military information resource for those interested in finding out more about the military generally, keeping up to date with their profession and careers within the UK Ministry of Defence. We have liaised closely with groups and associated outside agencies to ensure that MoD Oracle is a relevant and useful resource. This resource is Internet based to ensure that it is up to date, r
elevant and allows personnel to search for information in an interactive manner. We have designed MoD Oracle to point the user in the right direction whatever they are looking for. Users are linked through seamlessly to the myriad information resources available to them. There will be featured subjects such as general military news, news and information from the UK Ministry of Defence, new initiatives, pay and allowance updates, latest military equipment developments and military operations research. Users can also access information about resettlement courses, find assistance with personal and career development, reunions, military events, honours and awards lists, Service Welfare provision and much more. The subjects covered are already extensive and diverse and these will grow and respond to the needs of its users. We encourage our users to contact us with their ideas and wherever possible we will develop new initiatives to respond to these requests. We do not aim to replicate the work of others, merely assist the user in locating where the information they seek is held. All the services available to military organisations through MoD Oracle are free of charge. MoD Oracle works alongside each of the three Services and related organisations linking in to their personal, specialist and dedicated sites wherever possible, thus giving equal weight to each Service as well as single Service news and information. In addition MoD Oracle offers the UK Ministry of Defence the opportunity to publish information at no cost.
