Gancia by Los Nickelos was written as a promo for the aperitif, you can guess it right, Gancia. There was an event organized in the Martini tower in Brussels that was located on Rogierplein/Place de Rogier, Brussels. It had a concert hall that could hold a couple of hundred people. The iconic building was demolished in 2004.

This is an iconic photo from Franco used for several album covers in the African series 'OK Jazz'.

For you to know: the musicians behind Franco are members of Yeye National and Afro Negro. Both featured on our first compilation! They were session musicians of Franco when he was in Belgium.

Paul Kavvadias (son of Nikiforos Cavvadias, editor and producer of the label) and Steve Van Acker team up and select tracks from the catalogue of the label to re-release these forgotten, but fantastic recordings.
