The Transeuropa Ferries' 1987-built UK-flagged ferry named M/F OSTEND SPIRIT > (ex- Pride Of Calais), sailed for the last time for dismantling in November 2013. She was one of two sister (Pride Of Dover) ferries built to operate on the Dover Strait in 1987. Their design is basically based on Townsend Thoresen's Spirit-class ferries. The ships were built by the German Schichau Unterwese AG for P&O European Ferries, Stanhope Steamship CO. (this shipyard also built the Spirit-class ferries). The sisters named OSTEND SPIRIT (ex- Pride Of Calais) and PRIDE (ex- Pride of #Dover) made their last voyage to Aliaga Ship Breaking Yard, Türkiye, be dismantled in 2012 and 2013.#ship#shipping#viral
