For anyone who missed it or wants to hear it again, my good friend Chris Frántz did a fantastic WPKN radio show almost two weeks ago with his long time friend Lenny Kaye. Lenny has written a wonderful new book, Lightning Striking, featuring ten of the times that rock and roll spontaneously created a new movement in a specific time and place, which influenced whatever came after. Chris and Lenny talk about this and much more, while Chris plays music referenced in the book before and after the very informal, conversational interview.
Both Lenny and Chris give very nice tips of the hat to Suzanne Vega, Steve Addabbo and Cindy Lee Berryhill while talking about songwriting and record production.
