Nestled in the woods, Stepping Stone Foley Studio is located one hour north of New York City in Blooming Grove, NY. A former guest house, the facility is built into the ground on three sides with stone walls, is two stories high with an open floor plan, a vaulted ceiling height of twenty-three feet and is treated for sound isolation. We utilize all aspects of the house including the full kitchen a
nd bathroom, an open wooden stairway, slate, marble, tile, linoleum, soft and hard wood floors. There is an isolated area featuring earthbound concrete, stone, dirt, gravel and grass for exterior surfaces. We can record outside with a variety of large props including cars and trucks, bicycles, yard equipment, logs, a tractor and a row boat. Our portable gear allows us to record on location (Only Lovers Left Alive, The Harvest), in our pre-war New York City apartment (Precious, Music and Lyrics) and at our remote Adirondack mountain camp (The Paperboy, Not Fade Away).
