I apologize I've been quite absent the last few days. I received news on Wednesday that my father had passed away 6/23/24. The same day I found out,was also Bird's graduation from middle school. So I was tough mom instead of grieving daughter. When I first found out I was ok. So I thought. I really didn't feel anything,neither sadness or loss. It was strange. As the day progressed,it came in waves. Sudden regret,sadness,nothing,numb,fine,extreme sadness,ok.....repeat ...over and over again...crying...fine...phone calls,more phone calls,signing electronic documents,wading through the neverending but necessary motions. It's been ROUGH. I lost my voice over the last couple days and today I feel nauseous and exhausted.

Have you ever gotten that hug you didn't know you needed? That moment for me was today. I told another vendor about a recent loss and she immediately hugged me. At first I said it was ok and was gonna casually brush it off. She didn't let go. And that was the moment I knew I NEEDED it. And in that moment,I just gave in and embraced the comfort. And even after a few seconds,she still didn't let go. And holy f**k I cannot tell you how much I needed that. And she knew it. She was there for me in a way I didn't know I needed until right then. I had been so strong, so casual,so....dismissive. Dismissive of my own emotions. And I cannot tell her how much I thank her for that. Some angels are human 🩵

This beautiful young lady graduated from middle school. She received numerous awards,recognitions and had high honor roll for the year! She received a Presidential Academic Award signed by President Joe Biden. I am so proud of her 🩵 and I'm so proud to be her momma
