Growing up in the Philippines 🇵🇭 , there was a traditional belief that women were solely responsible for household chores. However, I remember my parents share responsibilities because raising 5 kids is a lot to handle as my dad works for the government while my mom run a multiple home based businesses. My mom had to hire a helper but she made sure that my siblings and I still learned how to do household chores at a very young age.
I’m glad to see that, in the present day, there’s a shift, and men, like my husband, actively contribute. He handles groceries, cooking (often more than I do), dishes, and garbage. I focus on cleaning and organizing, striking a balance that suits both of us.
