Trying to make a cup of Earl Grey tea in the middle of the frozen lake at -20°Celsius caused my hands to nearly freeze off! Dropped the tea bags in the snow and the spoon stuck to my skin! Went to pour the milk in & it was completely frozen in the bottle. Idiot. You can take the girl out of the Cotswolds... 😂

Note to self: hands freeze without gloves, milk freezes. Make the Earl Grey at home in a flask before you leave 😂😂😂

Awesome walk today on the lake had such fun with a new friend, until the temperature dropped as the sun dropped and before we knew it, it was - 20°C.

Ended in disaster. 🎣😂🤣
We got the line caught around all our legs and shoes and hands but we didn't notice for ages until it was so badly tangled none of us could move!!! 😂😂😂
We had to give up on the ice fishing plan as by the time we had untangled ourselves we were all freezing. Not to mention that we had never used a drill before and couldn't make a dent in the ice 😂🤣

We are such British 🤣🇬🇧

We arranged to borrow a sleigh from a local guy in kilpisjarvi. He wasn't around and told us to grab the sleigh ourselves, which we duly did. We had a lovely afternoon pulling the sledge around saanajarvi and having tea and cupa soups in the kota up there by the fire.
Come early evening we descended into the village and Brett started to get nervous because a van was slowly following us on the road adjacent to the snowmobile track. Then another car joined in and turned into a carpark on the other side of the track. Brett pulled up the snowmobile just as an angry local came out of the car parked in the car park and stomped over to us, flailing his arms around and shouting at us in finnish. He said he had called the police (we understood that much) finally we realised that we had inadvertently taken his sleigh and not the person who had said we could borrow his! He'd assumed it was stolen and called the police!!!

The man was so cross with us and I can't deal with confrontation in any way that I grabbed Grey from the sleigh and walked home, leaving Brett to sort the misunderstanding out!! It all got sorted out in the end when someone was able to explain what happened, but now we are infamous in the village 😂😂😂😳😳😳
