BUSINESS IS VERY PERSONAL
You probably have heard the expression “it’s not personal, it’s business.” more times than you care to remember. Like many expressions, it is only partly true: there is nothing impersonal about the impact business, finance and economics have in our lives. Though humanity has never had more access to information than we do today, more and more opinion leaders and financia
l planning professionals have been warning us for some time now about the staggering paucity of actionable knowledge in the area of personal finance. A great part of the problem can be chalked up to our discomfort in speaking about money. That we are willing to hold down two or three jobs to make ends meet but find it difficult to educate ourselves as to what to do to keep more of our hard-earned money doesn't sound very smart, does it? That is what we intend to tackle head-on in these pages. PBFE is not meant to replace the advice you get from your personal financial planner or adviser. It aims to leverage the collective knowledge and experience of its members to enable ourselves overcome that initial lethargic hump in all things money-related. It is our duty as consumers of financial services to be smart consumers because the price of any action based on impulse, wrongful or biased information can be very costly. PBFE will only be as useful as our participation and willingness to share. Our goal is financial freedom. Ultimately, financial freedom has the potential to radically transform the world as we know it, no matter what political leanings you subscribe to. In these pages, we will limit our discussions to business, finance and economics.
• Business News and its ramification to our lives
• Personal Finance (Budgeting; Saving Strategies; Insurance; Smart leveraging strategies to grow wealth and control tax expenditure etc)
• Write ups ( Business professionals could share their thoughts on related matters)
• Entrepreneurship (Pitch your ideas to fellow members for discussion and establish potential partnership and funding sources)
• Surveys
We are calling on the financial and business professionals in the house to step up to the plate and make a difference in the lives of others. Consider it a public service that also happens to make good business sense.
