Calling all Latino Writers and Actors! Are you ready to showcase your talent on the big screen and see it streaming worldwide!?
The 5th Annual Ya Tu Sabes Monologue Slam, sponsored in-part by NBC Universal and NBC Launch is back!
🎬 WRITER SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN FIRST! Yes, open to first time writers - so take a shot!
🎭 ACTOR SUBMISSIONS OPEN IN AUGUST!
Let your imagination soar and write a contained monologue that can be performed on a virtual set. Picture it in 🚀 outer space, deep in 🏛️ historical eras, within the walls of a 🏰 haunted castle, or even on a 🏖️ sun-drenched beach. Think outside the box and deliver a dynamic, captivating monologue that you would love to see brought to life on screen by a rising actor and our producing team.
About the Slam:
The Nosotros Ya Tu Sabes Monologue Slam is a platform to highlight emerging Latino writers and actors. Selected writers and actors will get a chance to witness (and perform) the original monologues in a professionally produced “lights, camera, and action” setting by yours truly 😉. Then they experience the completed show with a full on red-carpet and rooftop party experience, as it is presented at the prestigious Ricardo Montalbán Theatre with an audience of industry professionals, family and friends!
Writer Submission Rules:
- Deadline is July 24th
- Create a Film Freeway account to
submit one (3 min) monologue.
-Original works only
-Clear character, setting, and incident
-English and/or Spanglish accepted
-Standard script formatting
-Include a bio and headshot
Prizes for Top Finalists:
-Professional produced monologue streamed on multiple platforms
-Industry Generals Meetings with NBC and -Casting Executives
-Official announcements on Deadline.com and other media outlets.
