THE AFRICAN GIANT: Jamaicans turned up in large numbers and supported Burna Boy's live concert at the National Stadium in Kingston.
It is reported that Burna is the first African artist to draw such a crowd in Jamaica. Burna performed alongside top Jamaican artists in the likes of Popcaan and together they entertained patrons with their hit single 'Toni-Ann Singh'. Legendary reggae artist Beres Hammond also performed on stage.
Prior to the show, there were concerns about the price of the tickets but many Jamaicans encouraged their fellow citizens to turn up and show love to the African Giant.
One Ryan Brady commented online, "Go out and support the artist. When our Jamaican artists goes to these African countries to perform, they are well supported. So, no matter the cost, go out and full the venue. He is an African doing it big worldwide."
Indeed, Jamaicans showed up in large numbers and thousands were singing Burna's hit word to word.
Over the years, many Jamaican artists from the legendary Bob Marley to Beres Hammond, Sizzla, Culture, Busy Signal, Sean Paul, Morgan Heritage etc all had successful stadium-size concerts in countries like Zimbabwe, Kenya, The Gambia, SA, Uganda, Ghana and many other countries around the continent.
