In January, your Richfield EMTs and Firefighters responded to a patient in active labor. The crew assisted with the delivery of the baby on scene and transported to the hospital. Mom and baby, who is now 3-months old, stopped by the station this past weekend, along with big sister. All are doing well, and we are so happy they were able to visit us!

January 2024 proved to be a start to a busy new year. The men and women of the Cedarburg Fire Deparment responded to a total of 159 calls last month.

On Saturday, March 9th CFD will hold an event at the Rivoli Theater, free to the public from noon to 2:30pm.

This will be an opportunity for residents of the City and Town of Cedarburg to attend and learn more about the upcoming referendum in April and to watch the movie “Odd Hours, No Pay, Cool Hat”, which is a documentary film that depicts the challenges facing volunteer fire departments across the country. The movie run time is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Following the movie, Chief Vahsholtz will hold a Q&A to answer questions relevant to the Fire/EMS service in Cedarburg and why the referendum will help the community.

Join The Fire Service is proud to work with the Cedarburg Fire Department and assist with their recruitment process. Congratulations to all the new members!!

The Cedarburg Fire Department welcomes their newest members, thirteen volunteers, who joined the department in 2023.

Five (5) completed the Firefighter 1 course to earn their certification in 2023. Melissa (Missy) Demczak successfully took two courses, Firefighter 1 and EMT Basic during the fall semester, which is quite an accomplishment! Her mother, Denisa, took the EMT Basic course with Missy. They enjoyed it so much, this mother/daughter duo are being featured in an upcoming article for an MATC publication. Three (3) new members joined already licensed as EMT Basic or Advanced EMT. Four (4) new members are now starting classes for Fire or EMT for the 2024 Spring semester.

In 2023, CFD also hired two (2) full-time Firefighter/Paramedics, Nick Hepner and Chris Wunsch.

Public Works crews are actively working to clear roadways. Our job fair today is actively open, as we knew it would be impossible to contact everyone to cancel. We will be here until 1pm, but also scheduling another one in February.
