Join us this evening in welcoming Aparna at 7:30pm to talk about the current state of sustainable fashion and what we can do to promote it.

Aparna Sharma is a freelance writer, she writes on various topics related to climate science. She is very passionate about slow fashion. From a young age, she loved visiting indigenous weaving communities in India and always looked at style as an artistic process.

Initially, like most people, she thought big fast fashion companies will benefit people in the global south, particularly India. After the Rana Plaza incident followed by a complete lack of empathy from the fast fashion brands, she decided to start writing on the dark side of fast fashion and it's link to climate change and exploitation. She uses her Instagram to show people how they can commit to building a sustainable wardrobe by swapping, thrifting and empowering artisans and brands who are committed to changing fashion to be a force for good.
