Today's teaser song for our podcast, 'Wind's Shadow' by Scarlet Starlings, was inspired by a book by Joanne Harris, who was a guest on our second series, Heyer Today (if you're a fan of Austen or Regency romance you'll love this series: https://heyertoday.libsyn.com/).

You’ll find the song 'Wind's Shadow' on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes. To read the full lyrics, go to our latest blog post on fablegazers.com.

So, how far would you go for someone you love, or to express yourself through your art? This song explores the lengths you might go to, and asks: where is it the epitome of romanticism and devotion and where does it verge on stalker or crazed creative?! Sometimes, a creative project never gets finished or uses up so much resources that you almost lose sight of where you began. Is it still worth it for the journey?

Do you have a favourite 'go-to' place in nature where the world makes sense?

I'm running down to the sea"....

You'll find our latest teaser song for the podcast, , on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes.

Failure. The word has an ‘ouch’ to it, but the truth is, we don’t get anywhere without risk. Have you put yourself out there with your work, romantic relationships or creative ventures? If it didn’t all go to plan, did you feel able to learn from the apparent failures?

This week’s teaser song for our upcoming podcast, , is Scarlet Starlings' ‘Adelaide’, and reflects on when it all goes a bit wrong in a romantic relationship – but the desire is still there…. Find it on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes.

"Adelaide, I don’t want to be your friend
But, Adelaide, I will love you to the end
Oh don’t be a stranger now
Just love me in ways only you know how ..."

Have you experienced a terrible breakup? Which songs did you listen to again and again to soothe your soul? For many people, songs and poetry/books are the only thing that can comfort them in the wake of losing someone they love.

The latest teaser song for our 'This Art May Save You' podcast, 'Goodbye Smile', explores a breakup scenario and how it’s incredible hard and painful to have something so integral simply disappear without notice. You’ll find the song on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and ITunes.

In the creative life, we also sometimes need to let go of a project. Or maybe we have to put it on hold for a while when we feel blocked. We'll explore themes like this in our exciting new podcast - we can't wait to share it with you!

"When you showed me your goodbye smile,

You broke something inside ..."

How do we deal with those long, dark nights of the soul, when you doubt everything you’re doing and it seems pointless? How do we find meaning and the will to persevere in the midst of the void? (And can art help? Yes, we think it can!)

This week's teaser song for our upcoming podcast, , touches on these themes. You can enjoy by Scarlet Starlings on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes.

"I’ve seen your likeness in the portrait gallery

Sad look left your soul out on a hook

You’ve bled, you bleed, you’re tired. ..."

For most artists, getting recognition or appreciation for your work can be an uphill battle. Those times when you work really hard on something and get very little response can be so disheartening - but we believe that the act of creative expression and producing something is in itself important and should be celebrated.

Our exciting upcoming podcast is all about exploring and celebrating creativity and its absolute importance to life. Our latest teaser song reflects on this theme of feeling your work is underappreciated. You’ll find the song on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and ITunes. To read the full lyrics, go to our latest blog post on fablegazers.com.

Wanna be there
Even in your dreams"

As we prepare to bring you a podcast about the importance of art, we'd like to invite you to reflect on what brings more creativity into your life. We've found that sometimes, finding others to work with can help you to take a half-formed idea and realise it more fully.

Or when you're feeling too close to a project, a collaborative partner can sometimes see things you can’t. What's been your experience?

Our latest teaser song for the upcoming podcast is about collaboration. You can find the song 'Better Together' on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and Itunes.

"Heavier air swamps me

Tidal pool sadness brings me low

Waves of doubt crash on me

Confidence washed out of me

It’s all gone so wrong

We get it. We all hate hearing about other people’s dreams - it’s the worst. But are there truths in dreams we should be reflecting on? There's no denying that many artists were inspired by their dreams, or tried to recreate a dream state.

This week’s teaser for our next project is a song about the world of dreams as a place where both inspiration and insanity can find you. You can listen to the song on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and Itunes. To read the full lyrics, go to our latest blog post on fablegazers.com.

Are you a believer in the power of dreams to reveal truths about our unconsciousness? Or do you reckon it's a bunch of mumbo jumbo?

"I know you so well
my breath is not my own
mingled all the time
tangled up within your sighs
Open wide, take me inside
Be the bridge, to the place
where dreamers go to die

Credits: Mike Scott (sw/arrangements, lead vocals, guitar), Sara-Mae Tuson (sw/arrangements, vocals, synth), Talitha Gamaroff (backing vocals), Scott Fitzgerald (producer/mixing engineer, drum machine, piano), Danny Green (production, drum machine), Khalid Ham (bass), Mike Siddell (violins)

How do you celebrate the special moments in your past? Have you ever experienced a song bringing memories from your past selves vividly to life?

Keepsakes from the past can give meaning to our lives now, but they can also tie us to our old selves - does this have its dark side?

This week's song, a teaser for our next podcast season coming soon, has a theme of ‘nostalgia’ - using creativity as a tool for remembrance.

You’ll find the song on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes.

"Jumpy footage of your youth
Skipping stones, gap in tooth
Feather pathways line the way
Soft as down to ease your way" ...

Can art truly save you, even when you feel broken, numb or battered by life?

In our upcoming pod coming out later this year, , we explore this question by speaking to artists from all kinds of fields. Our mission is to inspire you to live more fully, and we're warming you up with songs from Scarlet Starlings's new album, .

This week, 'Fly me to another place', is based on a real-life ad put out by a millionaire who invited artists to apply to come and stay on his luxury island retreat. This song is a tongue-in-cheek exploration of the theme of ‘escape’ and what it means to ‘fly away’ from your problems.

Listen to it on any music platform or here: tinyurl.com/2p8682tt

"The lonely millionaire waits for you
On soft white sands
He's been waiting such a long time
To feel it between his toes
For you, he'll shed his clothes"

Examining the inherent ridiculousness of the concept - skewed power dynamics and all, yet artists have always needed patrons. Harking back to our sugar baby Ruby and her adventures in our viral first season - we all long to escape our lives sometimes. Another question we'll be looking at is, who empowers artists to create and why?

To read the full lyrics, go to our latest blog post on fablegazers.com. You’ll find the song on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and Itunes.

Sometimes, memories hold us back. Sometimes, they act as a reminder of what’s important when we need it most.

Our new project explores the connection between art and life – how does art (in this case music) resonate most deeply with an audience? And you're in on this conversation - as well as talking to different artists about their work and why they’re compelled to create it, we’ll also be asking you, the listener, to consider developing your own creative instinct to live more widely.

In celebration of this theme, and in collaboration with Scarlet Starlings, we’ve written songs to reach people through different themes. ‘Mouths are Moths’ is about past love – the sort that haunts you forever, even in your dreams. You’ll find the song on all good music players, including Spotify, Amazon and Itunes. Plus, check out the full lyrics on fablegazers.com in our latest blog post.
