State legislatures around the country have a major impact on climate policy, and yet state-level political races often go unnoticed. Fewer than 20% of US citizens can name their state leaders.

Caroline Spears plans to change that. She created Climate Cabinet Action Fund to help local candidates run, win and legislate on a platform. We are officially in a U.S. year where climate and policies could be major factor.

Climate finance has been center stage at because meeting the world's climate goals will require mobilizing trillions of public and private dollars.

So what exactly does that look like? On our latest episode, Julia Pyper digs into the hard questions around this topic, and what we can expect to come out of Glasgow.

David Roberts is worried. Democrats have an opportunity to pass bold climate policy and political reform — perhaps their last chance for a long time — but they are stuck in political gridlock

In a new episode out today, Julia Pyper, Brandon Hurlbut and Shane Skelton speak to clean-energy and politics reporter David Roberts about the state of play in Washington, D.C. and why he’s both anxious and (surprisingly) optimistic.

With the Democrats' agenda still stuck in political limbo, the stakes could not be higher.

Political Climate, Season 2

We launched the Political Climate podcast last year as an experiment. We wondered, is there still an appetite for reaching across the aisle in today’s partisan political landscape? And could we possibly carve out a space for civil dialogue and respectful debate on one of today’s most dividing issues: climate change?

It turns out, yes! We don’t always have to agree in order to have meaningful conversations and there is value in hearing from your political opponent. At least, that’s what we heard from our growing audience in Season 1. So now, we’re back with Season 2!

Join host Julia Pyper, along with Democrat Brandon Hurlbut and Republican Shane Skelton, for an exciting new season with some exciting new partners. Political Climate launches Monday, April 8. Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher -- or wherever you like to listen!
