Often times senior dogs need a little extra love and care. This is also the case with my pug Loulou. These are a few ways how I support her1. Eye drops & cleaning: Loulou has a condition known as KCS (dry eyes) which commonly affects older dogs. She gets eye drops twice a day and I gently clean her eyes multiple times a day. Dogs with this condition can live a happy & comfortable life, including Loulou 🤍 2. Trimming nails: Trimming your senior dog’s nails regularly is one of the most effective things you can do to help maintain their joint and bone health. When their nails are too long, it can cause damage to their skeletal system. Over time, this can lead to arthritis and joint pain.3. Dog ramps: Dog ramps help senior dogs get on and off elevated areas safely and easily, and without any discomfort or stress on their joints. 4. Keeping them warm: As dogs get older they begin to feel the cold a lot more, which affects your senior dog’s joints. Loulou refuses to walk in the cold without a jacket on, and loves to be snuggled up in a blanket inside the house5. Puppies can provide senior dogs with companionship, help them stay active, keep their minds sharp and even increase their lifespan! Every day I can see how much joy and happiness little Mosy brings to Loulou.
