Avenue of the Giants was spearheaded by Jeanine Thomas, after she spent countless hours with Herbert and decided to make a film.

She brought on the talented Finn Taylor to write the script and Direct the Movie. Footage from two shoots - one in Marin County, CA and one in and around Prague, CZ - were ultimately sliced together to create this beautiful, timely and important film.

A beautiful and so true statement by Amanda Gorman. This was painted on the side of a wall in DuPont Circle, Washington DC. I stumbled upon it while there for the JxJ Film Festival a few weeks back. When we dare to heal the traumas of our ancestors past and those of our own today, we will collectively begin to see and experience more light 🙏

I attended the JxJ DC Jewish film & music festival in last week and what a wonderful time. The festival was chaired by Yael Luttwak who did an amazing job as narrator, and running this whole program. Such a delight to me her, and the crowd was great. Thank you Yael for having us there; to the crowd, thank you for watching and asking great questions at the end. 🙏🙏🙏

Last Friday would have been Herbert’s birthday 🎉! I celebrated with his daughter - we raised a toast to him. Miss you Herbert and think of you so often. And know you’re looking down on us smiling. Wish you were hear with us 🙏

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, we had a wonderful showing of the film at the Marin JCC. This was part of their activities to celebrate their 75th Anniversary and to honor Herbert Heller, one of their own. The Heller Family, now 4 generations strong, have been a part of the Marin JCC, past and present. I want to thank you Laura Schiff and the entire Marin JCC for a beautiful and important evening.
