Wow, I just watched "Young Women and Sea," inspired by the life story of Trudy Ederle and directed by Joachim Rønning, a Norwegian film director, producer, and writer. What a masterpiece... It is incredible that there were times when women had to fight for their right to swim and compete like men.

Trudy Ederle became the first woman to swim the English Channel on August 6, 1926.

What I loved most about the movie was Trudy's determination. Even in the face of rejection and immense pressure, she made it.

In case you didn't know, later in life she became deaf, around 1940, and even under these circumstances, she continued moving forward, teaching deaf children to swim.

Don't forget, if you want something, you have to go for it. No one will make your dreams come true; it's on you to make it happen. 💪

Acabo de ver "Young Women and Sea", inspirada en la historia de la vida de Trudy Ederle y dirigida por Joachim Rønning, director de cine, productor y escritor noruego. Qué obra maestra... Es increíble que en otra epoca las las mujeres tuvieran que luchar por su derecho a nadar y competir como los hombres.

Trudy Ederle se convirtió en la primera mujer en cruzar en el Canal de la Mancha el 6 de agosto de 1926.

Lo que más me gustó de la película fue la determinación de Trudy. Incluso frente al rechazo y la inmensa presión, ella siguió adelante.

En caso de que no lo supieras, más tarde en la vida se volvió sorda, alrededor de 1940, e incluso en estas circunstancias, continuó avanzando, enseñando a los niños sordos a nadar.

No lo olvides, si quieres algo, tienes que ir por ello. Nadie hará tus sueños realidad; depende de ti hacer que suceda. 💪

🚨 BREAKING: The Supreme Court has issued a must-know ruling 🏛️ on retroactive damages 💸 for copyright claims filed in a timely manner. ✍️

This landmark case highlights the critical nature of determining how the U.S. will apply the "injury rule" versus the "discovery rule" for the accrual of copyright claims—a key factor in the statute of limitations for copyright infringement.

A statute of limitations sets a deadline for initiating legal action after an event. Once this period lapses, the right to sue expires.

For copyright infringement, this statute dictates the timeframe a copyright owner has to pursue legal action against alleged infringers.

With the expiration of the statute of limitations, copyright owners may lose their ability to seek redress for infringements.

The "injury rule" triggers the limitation period at the moment of infringement, whereas the "discovery rule" starts when the plaintiff becomes aware, or should have become aware, of the breach. 🕒🔍

In the recent case, the plaintiff's stance was that the "discovery rule" permitted the pursuit of damages for infringements occurring nearly a decade ago. The defendant contended that only infringements within the three years before filing the suit were actionable. The Supreme Court's decision favored the plaintiff, allowing for a broader scope of recoverable damages.

ALERT of SCAM. For those innocent applicants filing trademark applications on their own, please pay attention to this form of scam.

I filed for a trademark application one day ago. Today, I received a call from someone, who said, "Hi, I am Mike (something, I can't remember). I am calling from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. I want to confirm is the trademark you filed for this one (he mentioned the trademark)"

I was very surprised with thee call, specially because it takes months to get an examining attorney assigned. However, I followed the conversation to see where it was going.

Then, I was asked. "What are the services your are filing for ... are these the only ones, or do you have any other trademarks pending?" Like excuse...?

I stilled followed the conversation. I said "Yes that is correct, but why are you ask me this when everything was indicate in the application". The person said "This is for regulatory purposes". I said "Ok".

Then he said, "Ok, and the trademark has been used from this date?" I was like ... "Yes..." This is all public information, so it was not surprise that the caller had it. THEN, he said "Ok, you can now use the trademark and add the TM symbol to it. Additionally, you must pay $25 to complete the trademark process. Are you paying with debit or credit card?" Me:🤔 😵 😡 I said. Excuse I will hang up.

NOW, let me be clear, in case you don't know:

1.- You pay the trademark application when filing.
2.- You DON'T pay anyone to publish the trademark in the public gazzete.
3.- USPTO will rarely call you, unless there is an Office Action in place and you are a lawyer (most of the time)

AND, you may be thinking. Well they only wanted $25 bucks. Here is the thing, the provably wanted my credit card information, there would be the big win.

So please, be very careful when applying for trademark protection or completing any filing on your own. Scammers are their, and sadly, the put a lot of effort on looking legit.

😤 If they used that same energy to do good... Any one, if you don't like or share anything I post. PLEASE share this one, I have had clients who innocently paid a lot of money, before meeting me, in hope of protecting their brand.
