Dumaguete Travel Guide 2024

Hello, from my favorite city in the Philippines! A simple yet progressive town of gentle people, no wonder it was hailed as one of the best places for retirement!

✈️ How To Get Here?
DGT is located in the Southern part of Negros Island. It is in fact one of the cheapest destinations in the Philippines!

1. Book a flight to DGT-Sibulan Airport
2. Ride a trike outside Sibulan Airport heading to your hotel

🏘️ Where To Stay?
Stay along the Rizal Boulevard to have an easy access to the FREE landmarks and nice bars, restaurants and shops! We stayed at the Bricks Hotel

The Destination:
Dumaguete, a gem nestled in the heart of the Philippines, has always held a cherished spot on my list of favorite destinations. This quaint town, with its serene atmosphere and enchanting allure, possesses a unique charm that captivates the soul. Its people, warm and welcoming, add to the magic, creating an experience unlike any other. Though this marks only my third visit, the bond I feel with Dumaguete is profound, compelling me to return again and again. I know in the depths of my heart that this enchanting place will forever call me back, time and time again.

Disconnected from the digital realm, we embraced the challenge. Upon arrival, the sight was nothing short of magical—a breathtaking view that defied description. This hidden gem in Siquijor is an absolute must for any traveler seeking wonder.

Returning to these familiar places felt surreal, as if stepping into a dream where time stood still. Siquijor has gracefully preserved its natural wonders, a testament to its timeless beauty. The joy I felt at Cambugahay Falls was pure and childlike, swinging amidst nature's embrace. The initial oddity of the Old Enchanted Tree fish spa soon gave way to relaxation, though the presence of the larger fish kept me on my toes—an unforgettable experience, nonetheless. Hapitanan Broom Shot not only provided a whimsical broomstick ride but also unveiled breathtaking vistas. Exploring Lazi Church and Convent offered a glimpse into history, while Pitogo Cliff dared us to leap into the unknown. And as the day drew to a close, Paliton Beach gifted us a sunset to remember—a symphony of colors painting the sky. It was a day of contrasts: from laughter-filled swings to the thundering cascades, adrenaline-pumping jumps to quiet moments of reflection, from the curious tickle of fish to the exhilarating flight on a broomstick. Siquijor, your magic has woven its spell upon my soul, leaving an indelible mark of wonder and gratitude. ❤️
