Nice to be back in our hometown Kingsbridge after a month on the road. The ironing board is back out tonight at The Old Warehouse restaurant/bar spinning 45’s at their Vinyl Club night. Eight till late playing every genre of British and American sub-cultured music with the odd theme tune or England football classic thrown in for good measure.

Lovely day yesterday spinning new album sounds from Jalen Ngonda and David Holmes and selling a few 45’s at Outside Devon’s Skate Park and Cafe’s record fair. Even had time to introduce some youngsters to the art of putting the needle on the record and using the crossfader. .

Right then, it’s been busiest summer on record for the ironing board, the finishing line for the season is coming up this Friday at the The Dolphin Dartmouth Inn where the pub is hosting the Dartmouth Food Festival evening Jolly Ups. It’ll be a pub full of TV chefs I’ve been told, so some edible TV theme tunes will be in order. .

Catching up on last weekends DJ stints it was the ‘Last of the summer wine’ not Buckfast though, Friday night DJing along the waterfront at the Crabshell Inn Kingsbridge, cracking evening with all 55+ tables taken mostly by locals.

Then on to Outside Devon Skate Park for their first Record Day/Fair Sunday afternoon again busy busy with around 200 locals popping in throughout the day. Top tunes spun by Rupert from Drift Record Shop, PinappleDJ, JD Dalton, Matt King Audio Grail Garrard 301 and Joe Vincent. Already looking forward to the next one in November. .

Well chuffed again to be invited to the best weekender of the year. Modcast with Eddie Piller & Friends The Ironing Board Sessions happen upstairs in the bar at The Azur 12 midday till 6pm all weekend with various guests jumping in to spin anything and everything you won’t normally hear on the dance floor.

Nice to see Easy Listening AcidHouse has been added to the genres below. I’ll be doing a special tribute to Felix Da Housecat 1st set Sunday breakfast/lunchtime. God bless the broad church of Mod!

Saturday night was a cracker at the bang up for it The Dolphin Dartmouth pub in….Dartmouth obviously.

Another venue added alongside The Pigs Nose Inn and The Crabshell to the “Have IroningBoard Will Travel” Tour of South Hams local establishments in 2024.

All tickets will be free but there will still be £6.50 theft/service charge, booking fee and online postage charge for each venue to all the major ticket agency racketeers. Grrrrrr!!!!

Back to the local establishments it’s ‘Last of the Summer Wine rain or shine this Friday at the Crabshell Inn Kingsbridge still plenty unopened vinyl tunage to give a first listen to. If the weathers kind we’ll be starting earlier at 4ish till 9pm.

It was a real pleasure yesterday spending the early evening spinning new album purchases at the South-Hams newest creative hub Outside Devon Skate Park. Chatting all things vinyl with head chef Joe Robinson and co-owner Paddy. Luke Una’s new É Soul Cultura compilation got a massive thumbs up. They’ve got a record fair coming up soon with local DJ’s and Drift Record Shop from Totnes on board 10th of September. Such a cool place, gonna be a regular DJ slot through the winter for sure.

What a blast Camp Bestival Dorset was, it gets better and better every year even with our kids now young adults. An absolute pleasure working with Reverend Milo Speedwagon and Darren Davies on the main stage. Roll on round two at Camp Bestival Shropshire in 3 weeks time for more of the same.

What a SPECTACULAR 7 days of total toppest hooteramas, shenanigans, music, people, holiday, fun, sun and more

It’s taken a few days to rest up and it’s just so wonderful to look at what a fabulous time we all had.

Daytimes round the pool.. night-times in either Beverly or Blanco Y Negro. Every moment filled with laughter, dancing and pure merriment.

Saturday’s Sunset Boat Party was without doubt the best one we’ve ever hosted (everyone agree). We all dived into the sea .. then ran onto the deck to dance bikini bound hanging onto our beers listenting to whilst cruising round the bay of Peguera. Pure hedonism.

Sunday BBQ round La Co**ha pool and time for a quick Q&A for Eddie’s Book..

Monday’s Beach party was mega fun on scooter rideout on Weds was mindblowing… 6 hours winding through the Northern villages of the Island climbing to the very top of the mountains on Z-bends and stopping for lunch on route back crackling away on vintage Lambrettas and newer Scomadis Big thanks to. Locowheels in Palma for guiding us and arranging.

Thursday and we managed a live transmission of the electic soul show hosted by Eddie and JP for TWR!.. down by the pool. (thank Mike south for helping)

Massive thanks to some exceptional sets from our wonderful DJs. Got the rig back in action Friday with a low key impromptu beer garden gig at The Hermitage Inn in Kingsbridge. It was a wee bit rusty, missed the sleeve with my near mint copy of Byron Lee and The Dragonaire’s cover of ‘Shaft’, easily a £100 tune, fortunately only lost the first 20 seconds, can still play it…..just!
