th experiences not our own, but also the solutions to many challenges facing our world. We publish literary nonfiction, fiction and poetry that is both timeless and urgent, embracing all aesthetics. Our mission is to curate the best ideas from across the world. We acknowledge that English is the lingua franca of the twenty-first century but crave access to knowledge generated in other languages. We publish translations to or from English alongside originals in other languages. We publish writing challenging existing portrayals of the experiences of the marginalized, oppressed, occupied and ignored, defined provocatively or traditionally. Liminal spaces, borders, spaces between are what we illuminate. We launch new voices and expand the readership of established authors. We are committed to the power of the written word to change lives, perspectives and policies. Literature is our democracy and we want you to be a citizen of our community.
