It probably goes without saying that we talk a lot about Star Trek around the Steal My Name offices. So to mix it up a bit this week, it’s time to discuss the other capital S star in the fandom sky. That’s right, it’s Star Wars! For Episode 37 of the Steal My Name Podcast we go all the way back to the prequel era to discuss the state of fan culture, the build up to Episode 1, the ongoing battle of Trek Vs Wars, and just how wondrous and versatile the road movie archetype can be with Fanboys and Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

Not to be left out, DS9 keeps kicking ass with Season 2, Episode 19, Blood Oath. The Klingons show up and things get violent. And we end by exploring a great corner of the Star Wars Expanded Universe (or Legends chronology if you want to get picky) with the third book in the Rogue Squadron series, The Krytos Trap.

Don’t forget to like, follow, share, subscribe, hydrate, get proper sleep, and to honour any and all blood oaths taken. Enjoy!

For Episode 36 of the Steal My Name Podcast our host-with-the-most is joined by musician, writing partner, and noted spiffy dresser, Dawson McManus. It’s video game movies all the way down as Dawson and Bob wade into the swamp that is 1993’s Super Mario Bros. and 1994’s Street Fighter. It’s equal parts pleasure and pain as they discuss the history of video game movies, bad movie fighting, and just what the hell went so wrong with these adaptations.

On Deep Space Nine it’s all things Trill with Season 2, Episode 17 Playing God. And The Pixar Touch by David A. Price gives us a chance to celebrate the legacy of Pixar while also discussing the importance of separating the art from the artist.
