WATCH: . How long a sentence should be handed down to convicted rapists? Today, the Scottish Sentencing Council - that's the body which provides guidelines for criminal penalties in the courts - is asking the public for their views on this.
Its published a draft on what judges should take into consideration when sentencing, and hopes to make the process more transparent and consistent.
One rape survivor has told STV news she was "devastated" to learn her attacker could be released from jail, just a few years after being convicted.

Operation Koper is the Crown's long-running probe into Covid care home deaths - but those working in the sector say it's discriminatory and piling pressure on already burnt-out staff.
More than 5,500 Covid care home deaths are being investigated. Many bereaved relatives are hoping for answers from it, but care leaders say it's not the right way to get them.
