Mysterious mummy found in tomb in Peru with hands covering its face .
In 2021 , A mummy, fully bound in ropes and with its hands covering its face, has been discovered in an underground tomb in Peru.
Archaeologists from the National University of San Marcos found the mummy in good condition in Cajamarquilla, a significant site 15.5 miles inland from the coastal city and capital Lima, Peru.
The mummy is estimated to be between 800 and 1200 years old.
Although the mummy’s striking pose – bound by ropes and in the foetal position – appears chilling at first sight, researchers believe it is a southern Peruvian funeral custom.
The tomb also contained ceramics, vegetable remains and stone tools.

Colonna Gallery Museum and Art Gallery.
Palazzo Colonna is one of the largest and oldest private palaces in Rome. Its construction began in the 14th century and responded to a specific wish of the Colonna family who had already resided there for eight centuries.
During the 17th century, the Palace was transformed into a large Baroque aristocratic residence.
It is from this period that the construction of the Colonna Gallery dates; it measures 76 meters long and represents a jewel of Roman Baroque, unique of its kind. There we discover absolute masterpieces created by the greatest Italian and foreign artists, between the 15th and 16th centuries. .~

SHIELD OF PHARNAKES ~ KING OF PONTUS
This round shield is decorated with an embossed 6-rayed star with a central circle; two concentric relief lines surround the star and frame a Greek inscription that reads, Basileus Pharnakou (of King Pharnakes). The inscription refers to Pharnakes I, who ruled Pontos (a region on the southeast coast of the Black Sea) in the 2nd century BCE. Created from a very thin sheet of metal, this shield would have originally been supported by a base of wood or leather. The rim has a serrated edge and four evenly spaced rectangular tabs that may have been folded over to secure the internal support structure.
Macedonian shields with inscriptions bearing the name of the king have been discovered in the sanctuaries of Zeus at Dodona and Dion as well as at Vergora (Florina), Bonce (in ancient Pelagonia), and Orestis (modern Kastoria), all located in northern Greece and Macedonia. Shields of this type may have belonged to soldiers of the royal guard and have been dedicated as votive offerings to local deities.

Rare Roman-era helmet crest (or possibly a wig) made of hair moss. It was found during excavations at Vindolanda Roman Fort, just south of Hadrian"s Wall in Northumberland, England. It dates to Period 1 at Vindolanda (late 1st century AD), and therefore predates Hadrian"s Wall. Remarkable!
It is on display in the Roman Army Museum near Greenhead in Northumberland, just a few miles west of Vindolanda.

The tower of the 19th-century St Michael"s Church from an alleyway in Stanwix in Carlisle, Cumbria, England. This photo may not seem interesting, but I am standing inside what should be one of the best sites on Hadrian"s Wall—Uxelodunum.
Uxelodunum is better known as Petriana or Stanwix Fort. It was the largest fort on Hadrian"s Wall, but is now completely buried beneath the suburb of Stanwix. There were once some exposed stones in the Cumbria Park Hotel carpark, but so far as I know, they have now been covered.
Uxelodunum"s location approximately midway along the frontier defences (including the Western Sea Defences), as well as its size and large garrison, suggests that it might have served as the headquarters of the frontier defences. Unfortunately, Uxelodunum"s close proximity to the growing city of Carlisle guaranteed that once it was abandoned, its stone was taken for other building projects. Since then, Carlisle has expanded beyond its walls and today, houses and a school occupy the site.
Every time I pass through this part of Stanwix I can"t help but think to myself: the Ala Gallorum Petriana, an elite thousand-strong cavalry unit of the Roman Empire, was here.

A fully unearthed Moai statue on Easter Island.
The Easter Island statues are iconic monolithic human figures carved by the Rapa Nui people on Easter Island in eastern Polynesia between 1250-1500 AD. They are believed to represent ancestors and were placed on ceremonial platforms called Ahu.
The construction and transportation of these massive statues, some weighing up to 80 tons, remain a subject of fascination and study due to the island"s remote location and the engineering feats involved.
