Lagos state governor salutes man who swam across the Third Mainland Bridge in a bid to raise awareness on su***de and depression.

In a post on Instagram, Gov Sanwo Olu says, “Lagos salutes your courage and commitment. Your dedication to making a difference both in and out of the water is truly inspiring.”

The man, Akinrodoye Dare, who is also a swimming coach, completed the remarkable event in 2hrs 34 mins, making him the first man to ever do this.

The United States Department of Defence had announced Mr Aregbesola’s death two days after he slipped from a ship in the Red Sea. Lagos Police Arrest Man For Stealing Transformer Cable

Policemen attached to the Onikan Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Abubakar Haruna, 27, for stealing transformer cables.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known in a message shared on his ‘X account on Saturday.

He wrote, " Following a distress call, officers of Onikan Division have arrested one Abubakar Haruna, aged 27, after he jumped into a compound, and cut off cables from the transformer within the premises.

"He was arrested with a machete, two saws, and pliers. Investigation is ongoing."
