The adventure continues.. 🏰✨

Some of my earliest inspirations for travel and photography came from this app, in particular some incredibly talented German wanders. Back then I could only really take one trip a year, living the way I do now seemed like a pipe dream.

Lately I’ve been travelling purely for myself, shooting less and trying to be more present, but I love the permanence of photography, and how each frame becomes an anchor to a memory. Today I found myself reflecting on where my nomad journey began, so it seems an appropriate time to share this image with you from Hohenzollern a couple years back.

When I first saw this castle on Insta I’d never seen anything like it, I was inspired to find a way to travel through Germany and see such sights for myself. I hope you find it inspiring in some way too 🤟🏼

Returning to form 💪🏼

It’s been a while since my fall now, and though grit is still not on the horizon, I’ve really been enjoying my climbing again. Not only that, but longer walks and hikes are becoming a possibility again! So while I warm my toes in snowy Slovenia, here’s a frame from warmer days a couple of seasons ago 🤟🏼

Life is simple in the Albanian Alps. Too cold? Drink Rakia. Too sad? Drink Rakia. You just woke up? You guessed it 🍻

I don’t drink much these days, but if my village was completely inaccessible until the spring I think I’d come around to their way of doing things!

Either way, I can think of worse places to wait out the winter ♥️

Guardians of the coast, standing tall off the shore near Land’s End. I was beyond excited to see these on my Scottish adventure with two best friends and one broken leg 😅

Throwing it back to a UK adventure as I get ready to leave Greece and return to the cold 😂

Old Harry is one of those spots I saw constantly in my first couple years getting into photography, after my first round of slow travel abroad I was stoked to finally see this spot first hand on a little southern roadtrip with ☺️

Oh Albania 😍 Europe’s last adventure

That’s how Drive Albania]’s tagline describes it, and it was certainly the case for me during my time there. From the snowy mountains to the pristine hidden beaches, my time there was filled with memorable moments -- adventure and intrigue were never far away.

Sure, it’s a bit of a culture shock from a western perspective, but once you learn the rhythm of the place it begins to open up to you, revealing truly wonderful people and unexpected beauty. Many of my favourite travel stories came from this underrated gem of a place.

I’m stoked to be heading back here in a few weeks to share some of its highlights with friends, but a few days will only scratch the surface of the wonder and friendship this incredibly country gave me over my months there last year.

See you soon, you absolute beaut.

Ready for adventure 💪🏼

I’m about 8 full days into my current trip, which is about the time when I met Mathieu, Shoreh and Alfie when I struck out on my first remote living experiment in late 2020.

We met in Dubrovnik after I spotted their insta handle on their van and shot them a quick message, which lead to meeting up for a beer, chatting for a good couple hours and then meeting up the next day for a little photo mission.

It got me thinking about how many opportunities there are every day that pass us by. People love to complain about Insta -- whether it’s the algorithm, FOMO, toxic comments, promoting overly idealised lifestyles, etc etc.. but none of those things are new. Instagram is just a tool. It’s as good or bad as you make it.

For me, it’s lead to connections with inspiring individuals from around the world.
It’s brought me to people and places I wouldn’t have known without it.
It’s fuelling a creative pursuit that changes how I see the world.

So anyway, enjoy these moments from round one.. and get ready for round two. I’m psyched to see where it takes me!
