Back and settled-in from my vacation, I see this came across the wire from REVOLVER.NEWS a couple hours ago. "Time for the American People to Reject the Globalist American Empire." This Story-of-the-Week comes from The Federalist who say that social media works against social cohesion, virtue and normality by not only monetizing the freak factor of any odd condition or behavior, but also making sufferers into mini-celebrities. TikTok's multiplicity community insist that they're healthy, happy, and even normal—they just have up to hundreds of personalities contained within one body.

Thanks to social media, these tormented lives are being exploited by the sufferers themselves, their family members and lovers, and big tech platforms.

A familiar voice, Jim Coye was the Noon to 6 p.m. air personality on KYMS from 1978-1984. He'll be back on KYMS soon!

Well ... he'll be on THE MUSIC OF KYMS: THE BONUS HOURS assuming his longtime role as I expand the 1975-1981 portion of my series. As my original 10 videos have played out on social media over the past few months, it became painstakingly obvious that so many great songs and artists were not included.

Plans are in the works to produce a minimum of three and no more than four additional videos of the same length. The original series featured a hosted opening for each hour. For the bonus portion, Coye will stop the music four times per hour - similar to the way things were done back in the day on KYMS.

"Vince and I have been in talks about this and I'm really looking forward to mixing it up by sharing both some personal KYMS vignettes and some stories about the artists, many of whom I've had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing," says Jim who went on to add, "one of my greatest joys was the Prayer Time every afternoon where I would read the listeners prayer requests over the air with that praise instrumental playing in the background. I'm so happy this is also included in the special."

Launch of THE MUSIC OF KYMS: THE BONUS HOURS is expected across all social media platforms along with a re-launching of the original series sometime in early to late Fall.

For some of you this is going to take a bit of work to figure out. Once you have, you will have mastered being able to download videos from YouTube and converting them to .wav or .mp3 audio files. It's not as complicated as it looks and there are always short tutorial videos available in case you get stuck.

Short answer is No. I am not - nor am I allowed to - sell my series THE MUSIC OF KYMS. The best way to think of this is, your ultimate objective is to grab the audio from off the YouTube videos, turn them into mp3's and from there, transfer them onto audio C.D.'s so you can take them along on your ride. Otherwise you can transfer them to Flash Drives.

There are two pieces of software you'll need. One is the downloader (the thing that grabs it off of YouTube) and the other is the converter (which takes the YouTube video and converts it to the appropriate audio file) so that you, in turn, can transfer it onto C.D.s or USB flash drive. The time length of each part of the series will fill up one C.D. Meaning that if you want all ten parts, you will need ten discs.

For the downloader, I recommend either the free YouTube Video downloader which you can google and find. Finally you'll want to download a converter called Switch Plus. It's the easiest and it's free. It is also put out by NCH Software. It's the program where you drag your video or movie format into a box and convert it by selecting your desired output format, whether that's .wav or .mp3 Just google Switch Plus NCH Converter. If this is foreign to some of you, I'm sure you have family members that can guide you through or even do the job for you. If not, in certain circumstances I can do it IF you friend me on Facebook so we can exchange info and if you provide me the discs, flash drive and postage paid self-addressed packaging. So that you know, I have lots of projects ahead of this and I won't be able to do it for you until after Christmas. Hope this helps. 🙂

Great voices make up this newly revamped version of Hour 09 of THE MUSIC OF KYMS that include three additions: Randy Stonehill, Danniebelle and a little known group, Parousia that aired for eight months at the beginning of the station.

You sometimes hear people say, "She's the next Karen Carpenter." In 1975, Parousia's Barbara Lloyd recorded an album at A&M Records. Do you wanna know who agreed with the engineers and studio musicians that Barbara was going to be "The Karen Carpenter of Christian music"? Karen Carpenter.

As this hour closes, I'm going to share a short story with you from 46 years ago. It's a time in my life that I never forgot. I was 14 and 15 years old, but I was a part of an era that made a lasting impression on me, even though Parousia's career was not meant to go forward after another couple years.

They'll never make another show like "St. Elsewhere." Sadly it never shows up in repeats. For six seasons it was a continuing story that launched the careers of Denzel Washington, Howie Mandel and Mark Harmon. It also starred America's oldest living actor, Norman Lloyd. He was Dr. Daniel Auschlander. You saw his name in the credits of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. At the age of 106, Lloyd was playing Tennis only a month ago. He passed away on Tuesday.

Jeff Davis reminds us in Part 5 of the 10-part Documusic series "The Music of KYMS" that in the mid 1970's the L.A. radio airwaves were filled with album-oriented FM Rock stations. Albums featuring Jesus music were few and didn't really have an outlet, until KYMS 106.3 flipped it's format from Acid Rock to Christian. It didn't take long for a whole group of listeners to have their own music plus a station that was their's.
