Perspective of the Playwrights: "Paradise Enow"
A behind-the-scenes interview with Albi Gorn, playwright of “Paradise Enow”, who skillfully takes us through his process of creating this social issue play that couldn’t be more relevant to current events. His characters are diametrically opposed on a topic that seems to be a barrier but they work to overcome it. Albi explains why he choose this topic, what he hopes the audience will experience listening to the play and what he believes they will take away from this balanced portrayal of two sides of an issue. Enjoy this video interview clip and then listen to the full play on our website or your favorite podcast streaming host. https://www.unseentheatre.nyc/
Perspective of the Playwrights - "Under the Carpet"
Getting 3 people to agree on anything is often challenging, but for 3 playwrights all invested in the outcome, it can be a lesson in learning to appreciate someone else’s viewpoint. When we (Jesse Bernardini, Diane Quinn and Bill Fuller) began work on “Under the Carpet”, we had a foundation that we felt was solid, because the story was inspired by a real person’s trauma. But to honor that real conflict wasn't the only goal, we needed to create a narrative to give context, stakes, and illicit a reaction, augmenting the storytelling. That is where 3 heads were so much better than one. Listen to this video as our playwrights share some of their thoughts on the process of writing this touching and sensitive story of a young women’s path from trauma to healing and all the people and circumstances that make that possible. Part 2 - What is the Story of "Under the Carpet"
Family is important in helping shape our views and can support us when needed. In “Under the Carpet” our protagonist, “Fiona”, is supported by her family the only way they know how to show it. Will that be enough for her to reclaim the life she once knew, or will this devastation she has suffered require a different approach? Wynne Anders, Ron Scott and Carrie Savage, part of our talented cast, give their viewpoints on What is this Story of "Under the Carpet" in this short video. Please enjoy and give us your feedback. Listen to the full story on our website https:www.unseentheatre.nyc/ or anywhere you stream podcasts.

Under the Carpet --- Coming Soon
During this time of remembrance, our hope is to give voice to difficult topics in an effort to start a conversation. We believe theatre can provide that impetus and allow for a new perspective. "Under the Carpet", personifies the message that the intersection of art and therapy can lead to healing. Check out this behind-the-scenes video and stay tuned for this soon-to be-released audioplay.
We can’t judge someone by the way they look.
“Jesse” appears to be very similar to “Franklyn”, and they do share many attributes, attitudes and appetites. “Paradise Enow”, directed by Rhonda Dodd , a current feature on Unseen Theatre’s #podcast, demonstrates that no matter how much we feel a #kindredspirit with someone else, we can’t assume they feel exactly the same way we do on every topic. For “Franklyn”, this #lesson takes time to learn and along the way she realizes that even though she loves “Jesse”, their life together may not turn into the paradise she envisioned.
