The man behind .oro.roastery was a major supporter of ours when he was running Al Centro Café prior to the pandemic. Antonio was kind enough to host our episodes in his beautiful cafe at the time, while we were in the midst of figuring out where our next studio space will be.

At a certain point, Antonio adapted to delivering coffee beans door to door on his bicycle!! What I respect about this guys hustle and mentality is no matter what gets thrown at you in life, you adapt and adjust the game plan to ultimately still chase after the same mission you were destined to accomplish.

The goal post sometimes may continue to become further out of reach in some cases, but that doesn’t mean you stop trying to shoot for it.

For anyone in the Edmonton scene, book your next meeting or hang out spot at Bar Oro. The attention to detail in your coffee and the service is five stars across the board.

Introducing your newest addition to the team! We are exciting to have had on our podcast as a host for the past year

Khurram was born in Lahore, Pakistan and moved back and forth from there and Abu Dhabi till the age of 12 when his family moved to St Johns, Newfoundland.

Having moved for a big chunk of his childhood, he fell in love with soccer and basketball in St. John’s and his passion for basketball continued to grow.

Going onto play college basketball, khurram has mixed his media and basketball skills to be known by various international leaders in the basketball training industry.

Now running his own academy called ITD Academy, Khurram’s mantra is “in the details” or formerly known as “in the dark”

In 2024 his pronouns are “Him/Alein” and he enjoys learning and growing to make dreams turn into reality.

We would like to take the time to reintroduce ourselves! đź‘‹

Introducing co-host Kanwarbir Singh Bhullar. Formally known in our community as Kenny. Kenny’s given Punjabi name means Prince of Bravery, which inspired him to name his academy “Bravé Fitness & MMA” .fitness

Kenny’s mission is to provide every child and adult the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of martial arts and have a healthier relationship with body movement in a safe and inclusive environment. Kenny has participated and competed in martial arts for 18.5 years. As the years pass on, he has navigated his career and interests in many different fields related to sales, marketing, and fitness; one thing that stayed constant has been his love for sharpening his skills in martial art disciplines.

Kenny is experienced in tae kwon do as a first degree blackbelt, has fought in MMA and kickboxing, and traveled the world competing in jiujitsu. Before building the academy, he has experienced managing teams and growing the bottom line for Canada’s largest corporations: TELUS, GoodLife Fitness, and Postmedia (Edmonton Journal). Kenny’s business acumen, passion for connecting with people, and love for story telling led him to co-founding 2nd Floor Podcast, which has given me the opportunity to connect with over 150+ innovators, entrepreneurs, and creators internationally. This has led to spearheading conversations on how to survive and thrive in both your personal and professional life, respectively.

His podcast has led to collaborations with TELUS Optik TV, University workshops, and Alberta Pod Network. When you’re not hearing Kenny on air, you can catch him on the mats teaching and preparing for his next Jiu Jitsu competition. Osssssss.

Allow us the opportunity to reintroduce ourselves. Introducing your co-host đź‘‹

Qashus is a rapper and songwriter starting his musical journey in 2009, immediately finding a deep inspiration to create music. For him, he recognized the deep meaning beyond the rhythms and rhymes of rap. He takes influence from the talents of hiphop legends such as Gangstarr, Dj Premier, Nas, Tupac, Dr Dre, 50 Cent, and artists of today’s generation J Cole, Logic and Russ.

He developed a connection with the old school boom bap rap vibe of their music and felt the messages of these rappers beyond their music. He works to emulate their anecdotal approaches to his music as he’s seen done before by the greats. His resilient Afghan Canadian identity is what motivates the more personal messages of his rap and defines who he is as an individual and as an artist.
