While today is International Women’s Day, Document Women turns one. 🎉😁
It’s not a coincidence that we started on International Women’s Day, it goes to show how intentional we are about actually ensuring women’s contribution to history is well documented.

Nigeria ranks 179 out of 187 in the IPU ranking of women in parliament; the second-lowest in Africa. Unless more women step up and take the lead, even the parliamentary seat reservation plans (for women) by the government would yield nothing.
Participation facilitates change. Be the change. Happy #InternationalDayofDemocracy. Special thanks to Anto Lecky for this enlightening video.

Registering for your PVC provides the opportunity for Nigeria to have female voices in civic engagement.
The time has come for women to identify and advocate for the positive changes they want to see in their communities and in Nigeria.
Thank you Anto Lecky 😊

Closing the gender gap in tech involves revisiting our history. In school, you learn about the “father of software engineering”, but women like Margaret Hamilton and Katherine Johnson who were among the important pioneers in software development are absent in texts.
Did you know that in the 1930s, women who calculated artillery trajectories for the US Army were called computers?

Did you know that before the 19th and early 20th century, women were largely absent from history texts?
Women like Barbara Hutchins, Barbara Drake and Alice Clark were among the first to start documenting women!
