It seems like not a day goes by without some groundbreaking new development in Generative AI. And in the digital accessibility sector, it's no different.
Yet, there's a crucial misunderstanding we need to clear up: AI will not fix accessibility issues in digital products.
But regardless of this, AI will not fix accessibility issues in digital products. Yet, I'm seeing that's what people are resorting to, by using tools that magically claims to fix your site.
I'm not naming any particular brands, but let's be honest—achieving 100% accessibility with AI alone is as impossible as claiming a site is "100% SEO optimised." At the end of the day, it's about having empathy with real humans that are using your products on the other side of the screens.
I'm a big believer in using AI to help improve the efficiency of your work. I use it every day for a variety of reasons, and it can play a part in accessibility. But it's definitely not a solution for creating a truly inclusive digital experience, as I explain in my post:
