This is an unusual post.
I started this label in 1995 in Praia Grande, Brazil. In the following years, I released a bunch of cassettes and CD-Rs, most of them by the bands I played in or friends', and the CD compilation Different Songs, featuring 9 bands from different parts of Brazil.
I quit the label in 1999.
While living in Brighton, UK, in 2009, I posted an open call for artists to participate in a compilation marking the comeback of the label.
After receiving a lot of good material, the result was a series of three compilations called cosmoPOPlitan, released online (bandcamp and streaming services) and also on CD-R. Each comp featuring 25 tracks, by DIY artists from many different parts of the world.
Since then I have been putting out albums by DIY artists from different parts of the world, mostly digitally, with a few releases on CD-R, cassette, CD and vinyl.
I have never known how to be a professional musician and never wanted to. The same with the label.
The first releases were funded with my salary as a security guard.
Then my security guard salary paid for half of Different Songs, while the other half was funded as a cooperative by 8 of the bands on it.
All the scarce money I got from the sales of these albums was used on things like groceries, household utility bills...
As from 2009, to every band/artist interested, I have been sincerely making it clear that this is not a professional label, that, if on this label, their album probably would not sell much, most probably would not sell at all. But in case it sold, I would do as the beloved Rough Trade famously operates, that is, after expenses, half to the artist and the other half to the label, simple as that.
Well, after a long time in which every scarce revenue was used on things like groceries, I decided to examine the numbers.
For most of the stuff I have released, sales haven't even covered expenses, haha, but it turns out I owe some of the artists money.
It is not much, in fact, it is incredibly little money, but I had always been worried about this, so now I will be able to settle the question and have peace of mind about this, hehe.
So this is a public announcement, I need to get in touch with the following artists and pay them: Transmittens (from the USA), Magic Crayon (from Brazil), PERTURBAZIONE (from Italy) and That Lingering Feeling (from the Philippines)
I am paying only the artists with entitlement of $10 or more, but there are many artists with entitlement of less than $10 and if any of them wants to pay for the paypal fee, just give me a shout!
Here's all the data:

People from various parts of the world downloaded and streamed these 100 artists.
Congratulations to everyone who made this possible!
