DOX quickly established itself as a leading producer of science documentaries for prime-time UK strands such as BBC Horizon and Channel 4 Equinox, as well as PBS NOVA, Discovery and National Geographic in the USA. In 2007 our international feature documentary hit IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON introduced us to the world of feature documentaries for the cinema, and theatrical docs have been an important
part of our output ever since. Over the years our scope has also widened to embrace subjects historical, political and personal. Our approach is to favour quality over quantity. We seldom have more than two films in production at a time. Our projects are meticulously researched: we pitch rarely, but with a high "strike rate". We don't do formats and we don't do celebrities. We do work with world's best cinematographers, film editors and composers. We strive to hold an audience from first frame to last with powerful stories told with intelligence, emotion and the highest production values. We make every film as if it will be our last (one day it will be).
