Cadet Books

Just finished my latest project and I can’t wait for this to be out!
My first book was released about 20 years ago for Drumsense and was about how to read drum music. Now, after 20+ years teaching and writing the Backbone Drums and Cadet Books titles, I feel this is the culmination of it all. Complete with online audio examples to play along with, it is aimed at anyone interested in playing snare drum, either in a marching band or as a static instrument. It would also be good for self-taught drum kit players who want to get up to speed on theory and technique.
With support from Premier Drums, Korg UK & Ireland and Cadet Direct, I’ve also had some amazing drummers review it before going to print so I feel confident it will be a useful aid for students and teachers! Keep your eyes peeled… out soon! X

I’ve just finished writing my latest book which is titled ‘How to Play Snare Drum’ and is aimed at either marching band drummers or drum kit players who have not learnt technique and theory.

Just finished a set of 6 x A1 Basic Training posters which are due for release soon through Cadet Direct. Will they be good for detachment classrooms? Would One & Two Star sets be useful too?

The brand new Cadet Pocket Book, which has been completely re-written and bought right up to date, has now been released.
CCF SSI, Ross Hart was the first person to get a copy and it is now available to order from Cadet Direct.
It was a massive job to take on as there have been so many changes since the book was last updated so please drop me a line if you have any thoughts or suggestions for future versions.

CADET POCKET BOOK - FEEDBACK NEEDED

Hi all, I have been tasked with re-writing the old 1980s Cadet Pocket Book to bring it up to date. I have gone for an overview of all aspects of being in the ACF to help new cadets, parents/guardians and new instructors.

Half the book is to do with ACF life including how to join, what happens at detachment and when away and how to prep uniform etc. The other half is an overview of the ACS syllabus.

I have a few people doing a full review for me but if anyone else is interested in having a look to give me some feedback before it goes to print, please just drop me an email to [email protected] and I will send you a link to download the draft.

Hi all, after a bit of a break, I have now re-released the Basic Training Handbook to get in line with the new AC Syllabus.
I’m sure there will be changes along the way as the syllabus settles in so please drop me a line if you see any discrepancies.
