The Return of Vertical Songs in Church
The Return of Vertical Songs in Church - Chris Clayton
A Worship Pastor must be mindful of having great theology and doctrine with the longs they choose to lead the local church with. It’s not just a matter of 4 or 5 songs on any given Sunday, but rather how people are being pastored with the music all throughout the week in their walk with Christ.
The Church is returning to a state of singing more often vertical songs, meaning songs that point directly to God and ascribe worth to Him vs potentially singing about one another. The songs that lift the name of Jesus high are the ones that will win and last for hundreds of years.

We are more isolated and don’t really know what the Bible says more so than ever before. Sometimes it feels intimidating to even know what to do or where to start. Take a simple step to open up the Bible to Genesis or John and just start reading and ask your local church about a small group and just show up. Take things one step at a time but take the first step. It’s worth it and crucial.
