*A Journey of Discovery: PORET Kindergarten ECD Students exploring the City of Mutare.*

On Friday the 31st of May a total of 9 students accompanied by their teachers visited the city of Mutare on a mission to explore a number of activities, occupations which are found in the city.

Mutare is the heart of Manicaland Province which houses a number of different activities. This is the lifeblood of the province and the one which houses different industries and offices.

According to Mrs Rachel Piti, one of the teachers, the aim of this trip was to expose the kids to the real-life experience of the concepts learnt at School and develop an awareness of the different occupations present in life.

The students visited a number of places to learn about different types of activities happening in the city as well as to appreciate how the city looks like.

They visited the Golden Peacock Hotel where they learned about the importance of hospitality and tourism in Mutare's economy. The hotel staff warmly welcomed them, sharing stories of visitors from far and wide who came to experience the city's natural beauty and cultural heritage. From the majestic mountains to the tranquil rivers, Mutare's allure captivated the hearts of all who ventured there.

The students visited the local fire brigade station, where they gained insight into the crucial role of emergency services in keeping the community safe. They marvelled at the bravery of the firefighters, who risked their lives to protect others in times of need. Through interactive demonstrations and informative talks, the students learned about fire safety and the importance of being prepared for emergencies.
