Welcome to the Omenerds Podcast; pop culture and social commentary with a twist. The world around us is in flames and life can be pretty expensive and depressing. We’re here to get you through that by being irrelevant and irreverent AF. We will talk about TV, movies, pop culture, food, Kenyan music, social media, food and everything under and around the sun… while we argue a lot about food along t

he way. A mix of fun and quirky with a dash of WTF are they talking about, Omenerds intends to analyse, debate and broadcast a range of views about our ever changing Kenyan society.

Unveiling Kenya's Neo-Soul Power Duo, Watendawili https://www.v3rcity.com/audio-visual/music/unveiling-kenyas-neo-soul-power-duo-watendawili/

Cham Thum (Atoti) by Watendawili is a banger, plain and simple. The production quality is top-notch, with every beat hitting just right as we're treated to a visual feast of colours, well-designed sets, tasteful fashion and aesthetically pleasing extras.

Phyasco has been on the scene for a bit of time, she has paid her dues, is a mom now (congratulations!) and is back with a short but sweet album entitled Tatu, an apt name as this EP has three tracks.

Emerging onto the music scene as the victor of DSTV’s Maisha Super Star in 2015, Phy swiftly dominated Kenya’s music charts with timeless singles like “Ruka” and “Taabu” (Taboo). Recognized as a rising star, she was showcased on CNN’s “African Voices” and is now poised as Kenya’s...

Hey guys, welcome back to the podcast. It's been a minute. Actually, it's been like 2 minutes. All will be explained in due time, but for now, let's just act like nothing happened :). Our Story

The year was 2017. A world in turmoil. Kenya was stuck in eternal campaign mode. From all corners of the internet the cry rang out, “Wacha kwanza tuone hizi elections zitaendaje.”

With the economy going mad and everyone’s nerves in shreds, we sought distractions wherever we could, most often in an unusually vibrant group chat where arguments about avocados and the merits of omena raged unabatedly for days. One time we even attempted a takeover of an aspiring Nairobian politician's channel (it did not end well). It was only a matter of time before a new Kenyan Dream was born: to take all the snarkery and hateration to the people who needed it most. People cynical beyond belief, yet still hopeful (although they’d never admit it). People like you, probably. Kenyans who struggle to be proud of Kenya. The time was ripe for a special kind of Kenyan podcast. And against the odds there rose those who accepted the challenge. A team was born. This team. Us. The podcast.

The Omenerds.

We took the steaming BS served to us daily by the powers that be and created a podcast to take on everything: pop culture, music, film, book, events, food, TV, conspiracy theories… everything. You get it.
