Despite temperatures remaining at abysmal highs, our hosts did get together to record at least a little bit of audio content for you this week where they talk about the weather, storing meat, and a little bit of Star Trek.

STILL TOO HOT: With temperatures still uncomfortably high on the west coast of the United States, our hosts are calling it for another week but did sit down long enough to record a little big of an audio proof of life to say hello to each other and to their audience. This week, our hosts reflect on the most recent season of Doctor Who—how it ended, how it shifted the paradigm, and how it honored its past.

AN ACTUAL BAD WOLF: With the newest series/season of Doctor Who wrapped up, our hosts discuss what was new, interesting, and surprising about this new batch of episodes. AJAB: Andrew reflects on the controversial new Star Wars show on Disney+, The Acolyte. TOPICS: (00:00) Intro – Andrew breaks out...

This week, Andrew pays off the hype by discussing his time with the ttjrpg, Fabula Ultima, while D. steps sideways into the murky world of professional wrestling by watching The Iron Claw.

What was your Week in Geek this week?

NEWS DRIVE-BY: At the outset of the show, our hosts breeze by a bunch of headlines from the week: Marvel vs. Capcom Collection, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, Adobe lawsuit, etc. WEEK IN GEEK: After finally having a hands-on session, Andrew shares his thoughts on th...

This week we have have a Week in Hype episode––where our hosts are excited about things they want to spend MORE time with. In this case, Andrew is excited to dig into the details of a new ttjrpg (you read that right), Fabula Ultima, while D. Bethel dips his toes into the deck building-tactical strategy-relationship simulator, Marvel's Midnight Suns.

WEEK IN HYPE: Instead of discussing what nerdy and geeky stuff they’ve been actively doing, our hosts instead discuss what nerdy and geeky stuff they’re excited about potentially doing. Andrew is inspired by the TTJRPG, Fabula Ultima, while D. Bethel gets tactical, romantic, and deck-buildy in t...

It's a Week in Geek episode this week, as Andrew discusses (with mild spoilers) the season AND series finale of Star Trek: Discovery while D. Bethel has a lot of thoughts about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, not only thoughts about the movie but also the story of its creation.

WEEK IN GEEK: This week, Andrew discusses (SPOILER ALERT) the series finale of Star Trek: Discovery, while D. Bethel has thoughts about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. TOPICS: (00:00) Intro(02:02) Andrew’s thoughts on the Star Trek: Discovery‘s finale(19:10) D.’s thoughts on Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga(3...

This week marks the 10 year anniversary of the show! How do our hosts celebrate? Well, with some light self-effacing humor and then some talk about nerdy and geeky things that interest them. This week, Andrew has fun(?) waiting in line at a post-apocalyptic DMV, discusses the impending series finale of Star Trek: Discovery, and D. Bethel urges everyone to watch Scavengers Reign on Netflix.

So, in other words, a normal episode, but with some fun reflection (stay for the outtakes at the end!) mixed in.

THE DMV PERSISTS: Andrew shares a particularly arduous, hilarious, and somewhat sad quest he experienced in Fallout 76, which leads also to a short discussion about the Amazon Prime show, Fallout. DISCOVERY ENDS: With the release of the season and series finale of Star Trek: Discovery (which was not...

Unfortunate news this week. We had a podcast recorded that reflected on the first season of X-Men '97 that featured our on-the-ground-Marvel correspondent, Kyrun Silva (of Ta**us Comics and 4 Tales Podcast), returning to join the discussion.

However, technical difficulties followed and we are unable to bring you the episode this week in a way that would be listenable. Maybe we'll get back around to it (perhaps close to when Season 2 comes around), but we'll back next week!

This week, our hosts stay on board the Fallout train as they discuss their dives into the world of Fallout 76.

FALLOUT FEVER: There may have been a gap of a week between episodes, but our hosts are still in the throes of Fallout, as they have both picked up Bethesda Game Studio’s Fallout 76 (again, for Andrew; the first time, for Dan). This week, our hosts talk about the new hit show on Amazon Prime: Fallout. As veterans of the game series in their own right, they discuss the choices made by the creators to adapt an open world game into an engrossing serialized narrative.

RELEASING THE EMBRACE: Our hosts start with some wild news about the Embracer Group and how, after years of buying––excuse me, embracing––every video game and tabletop developer in sight, they are now breaking up the company into three surprising publicly traded companies. CRAWL OUT THROUGH ...

Our hosts survived the eclipse and are here to talk about their Weeks in Geek. This week, Andrew watches the first two episodes of the final season of Star Trek: Discovery while D. Bethel plays the first few hours of the Obsidian RPG, The Outer Worlds.

This week, our hosts use the Disney+ show, Ahsoka, as a jumping off point for the increasing amount of shows and movies that require "homework" for their enjoyment (or do they?).

Let us know your thoughts about this week's discussion in the comments below!

Kyrun dips his toe into the world of Alan Moore's Saga of the Swamp Thing while D. Bethel gets amazed by Godzilla Minus One (Minus Color)!

After a few weeks, our hosts check in to show that 1. they're still here, 2. they're still nerds, and 3. explain their absence. However, they do also bring in a quick––VERY quick––Week in Geek. Andrew plays a tabletop RPG he has NEVER played before while D. Bethel watches cartoons!

PROOF OF LIFE: Our hosts have been absent for a few weeks and wanted to check in and discuss why. They also provide a short Week in Geek with Andrew talking about playing Dungeons & Dragons again for the first time in years while D. This week, our hosts recap their thoughts and observations of the second and third Doctor Who specials led by David Tenant and Catherine Tate, "Wild Blue Yonder" and "The Giggle." Plus, some thoughts on a very prescient Deep Space Nine two-parter, "Past Tense."

TALKIN’ ‘BOUT BI-GENERATION: Our hosts reconvene to talk about the final two David Tenant and Catherine Tate-led specials for Doctor Who––”Wild Blue Yonder” and “The Giggle”––which ultimately ends with Ncuti Gatwa taking over the lead role. PAST BECOMES PRESENT: We have a quick S...

This week, our hosts are back to talk about the first of the three 2023 Doctor Who specials which bring back not only David Tennant as the Doctor, but also Catherine Tate as his best companion, Donna Noble. Oh! It also marks the return of Russell T Davies as the showrunner for the series. It's all a lot––so that's why they only discuss the first episode, "The Star Beast."

After a week away (it's explained in the episode), our hosts return and perform a post mortem on the classic bizarre survival horror game, Alan Wake. Also, there are some corrections from the previous episode to acknowledge.

PUTTING WAKE TO SLEEP: After a week away from the microphones, our hosts reconvene to wrap up the conversation that started with the previous episode, “Is the original Alan Wake a good time?” There are some marks in the “yes” column, and a few in the “no”, but there’s a lot to talk abo...
