Had such a blast working with Jackie to create a brand identity for her business Waterfall Gems Ruby Executive Manager - Bomb Party!
These two logos are an example of 2 of 4 responsive logo designs that we created to meet her digital business needs. To match her brand’s personality, we developed an expanded palette that contains a monochromatic set of blues and pops of pink balanced with neutral champagne-esque shades. You can see an example of that full palette in the custom Facebook cover photo - which is one of several custom graphics Jackie now has to bring her brand to life.

🌈 The Waterfall Gems Logo has been a few months in the making💥 it shows our values of Fun, Connection and Freedom ❤️and it makes way for our purpose- To make work, play and goals a reality. I am so in love with it 😍
All the creativity and credit goes to Diana Mužina.

Celebrating the reveal of the branding for Return to Wholeness - a new podcast that .toronto is launching in 2 weeks!
The art for this project is made of a hand-drawn word mark and accompanying organic shape - tied together with a simple analogous color palette. Swipe to see how these elements were applied to the podcast cover art!

The .ohlemacher coaching rebrand launched today! 👏🏼🤍✨
I had such a phenomenal time reinvigorating the amazing business that Julie has created. Contrary to popular belief - your brand is not your logo. YOU are you brand. As a former client of Julie’s, I can attest to the fact that working with her is all about joy, connection, possibility and inclusion. And the branding we created is just the icing on the cake that celebrates those qualities.
Throughout the week I will share more brand elements, and behind the scenes on concept ideation. But here’s a taste at the brand and combination marks for Julie’s coaching business! ✨

Sometimes you just have to have a cute moment with your Apple Pencil ✨✏️
Wanted to share a few updates on business! If you missed it, lululemon extended my contract and I’m so happy to be working with a team of total trailblazers. Being able to create for such an amazing company is bliss 😘👌🏼
My books are closed for freelance branding projects until the end of March 🎉 right now I’m working with five amazing small businesses and service providers that are making my heart sing. I am still open for custom illustration work, though! You can see some examples of that work on .ohlemacher and .toronto pages as well as my own and .
People are actually searching for little old me and my website on Google! What what?!? That site has some updates coming soon, so stay tuned. Also, tomorrow my next post for my new series Concepts for Creatives will go live! As always, thank you for the support. And remember to save and share my posts, as well as any other creators, activists, educators, and small businesses that you care about.

The answer is YES, it’s so fu***ng magical ✨
Since I’ve decided to do the damn thing and begin doing freelance design I have just been continually grateful to the people and businesses that have reached out to me. And I can’t even believe I’m saying that last part, they reached out to little old me.
The sweetest part is that the people and business I’m creating illustrations and branding for this quarter are so incredibly aligned with my own values and passions. And it’s people that I’ve felt their magic in my bones before I even took this risk on myself.
And the requests keep coming, and the imposter syndrome is slowly melting away, and I can finally, actually imagine making this a sustainable business that can be my full-time job one day. My full-time job where I’m my own boss. And that’s WILD.
So thank you to everyone who has believed and invested in me so far. And a reminder that even if you can’t afford services, it’s totally free to like, comment, share and save my posts. This helps tremendously with increasing my reach and helping new clients find me! I can’t wait to share some of the projects I’ve been working on with you all, as well as a new informational content I’m creating that bridges my expertise from my MFA in design and communication with my educational and professional background in psychology, sociology, and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) work. 🤍

Last Thursday, I had $0 in my bank account. 😳
I felt so defeated. It’s hard not to in a society that places so much value on monetary gain and traditional avenues of success. But later that day, I received the official offer letter for the job I’m starting today and I was astonished.
I took a huge risk on myself a year and a half ago. Starting my MFA in a subject I was self/taught in, with thousands already in student loan and credit debt - then quitting my full-time job with benefits to invest in that program and myself.
Then a pandemic hit, and I couldn’t find a job. My old employer wouldn’t even give me the courtesy of an interview. Rejection after rejection for entry level roles hit me hard. So I continued my part time job, I started another as a Stylist for and I launched my freelance design services.
I gained more confidence working one-on-one with clients, and I’m so thankful for the people who believe in me. One of those people called me one day about an opportunity that they thought I’d be perfect for. And I’m so excited to start my new role as an external consultant for the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Action (IDEA) team where I’ll be developing their internal brand and communications strategy. I am continually impressed with this company’s commitment to equity, and their trust in the expertise of their IDEA team. I’m so thankful to finally be doing jobs that fill my soul and not just my pockets, and that was one of my biggest life goals. So special thank you to everyone that believes in me, and who helped me to get to this point today ❤️

Has this ever happened to you? Last week I established care with a new primary care physician here in Columbus. We couldn’t finish everything that we needed to do in one appointment, so we had to schedule a follow up for less than a month later. The last thing he said to me was, “wow, you’ve got a lot of medical history for someone your age.”...

Being 23 and living with a rare genetic condition often seems extremely contradictory to me. And I can’t say that I haven’t held a lot of resentment about that, because I have.

Today’s was to create a color palette for our ideal holiday aesthetic ✨ I found myself building mine around memories and favorite parts of this season.
My most special memory was my first Christmas puppy - and adorable bichon we named Bono. Last December, we made the hard decision to put him to sleep. I will always cherish the 13 years we had with him, and no one will ever be able to give me a better Christmas present. Swipe for a story I wrote about it in grade school and for my favorite picture with him. 🤍🤎

This is my energy everyday this Holiday season 🌟🎄
Really enjoying the ✨Truth-be-told, I share the same favorite Christmas song as - - so instead of designing for the same song, I had some fun searching for other holiday song lyrics.

We won’t be remembered for what we did, what we accomplished, or how much money we made. We’ll be remembered for how we made people feel. I’ve been treated like I’m less than by employers, recruiters, friends, men... and that’s what I’ll remember them by. I’ve been at extremely low points in a major depressive episode and truly believed that world didn’t need me.
I have goals and ambitions, but the legacy I want to leave has nothing to do with those things. I want to make people feel like they matter, because they do. I want to make people feel seen, because I know what it’s like to feel invisible. I want to do whatever I can to be a good ally to others, because I know my privilege makes it my responsibility. Who do you want to be?

Social media is a weird place, and often it feels like you’re rewarded for sticking to one type of content. When you break that mold, your engagement takes a downward spiral.
So this was my reminder to myself. I’m not just one thing and I don’t have singular interests or passions. I’m still here to advocate for social issues, mental health, and body neutrality - but I’m also a creative and am working my way towards forming a small business.
So as I share more of that part of my life, know that all the other parts of me and values I hold are poured into this work. The different parts of us don’t exist on separate islands. They aren’t like oil and water. They’re harmonious. So even if my engagement on these posts is lower, I’m not going to stop sharing it as it’s just another true reflection of me.
I hope that you continue to engage and interact with my content. Give me feedback, ask me questions, come to me for support. I’m here to celebrate all the universes that exist inside of you, always ✨

Had a great time helping The Victorian Village Market rebrand last month! ✨
As a part of my creative process, I began by learning what was important to the owner and evaluating the existing brand equity. What I discovered was a community business that has been family-owned for over 20 years. That heritage, combined with the recognizable, bright orange facade of the brick and mortar inspired the design.
In addition to creating a full brand guide that included the development of brand values and voice, new copy that can be used on their future website and marketing, I also created a launch capsule of assets including social profile updates, business cards, and a customer review card.
Looking forward to future projects with this brand, stay tuned 👩🏼‍💻

About Me

Truth-be-told, I’ve always had a strong aversion to being prompted to describe myself. Instead, I’ve always let my actions speak to the person that I am. But, I’m going to give this a shot.

In my LinkedIn profile, I describe myself as an: “experienced communicator with a demonstrated history of leadership and thirst for knowledge. Armed with two Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Sociology, integrates an understanding of human behavior with a sociological imagination to engage with individuals of diverse backgrounds, identities and experiences. Leveraging this skill enhances an existing aptitude for public speaking, communications, media design and project management.”

I have always been driven by a deep curiosity for all things, as well as a continual craving to make meaning out of the situations, things, people, and places around me. It’s like an itch that I constantly must scratch. Falling right in the middle of an “I” and an “E” in the Myers-Briggs assessment, I identify more so as an introvert. (I’m an INFJ, in case that helps you figure me out a bit more)

I think that this is because I am lost in thought, and often overwhelmed by both the sheer volume of stimuli in this word, as well as my affixed attention to the beauty in the day-to-day, mundane aspects of life, and the humans that fill it.
