The Wilson Journal is partnering with the Miller Center of Public Affairs and the International Relations Organization to sponsor an undergraduate essay competition examining lessons from past presidencies to inform the debate on contemporary policy challenges. All UVA undergraduates are invited to participate. Information regarding the competition is listed below.

PROMPT
Consider the most pressing foreign policy challenge facing President Trump. Using a historical example or case study as context, analyze lessons learned and how the Trump administration should address the issue going forward.

LENGTH: 500+ words, plus works cited

DUE: Sunday January 26th by 11:59 PM to [email protected].

Winning essays will focus on the educational role of history in informing foreign policy decisions, with a specific focus on the US Presidency.

One winner, one runner-up, & additional finalists will receive cash prizes of up to $450.

• Selected students will be invited to an honorary luncheon at the Miller Center
• Winners announced before February 9th.
