Sick of the football pundits out there, well check out these player ratings for the Aus v Saudi game:
Matt Ryan 7 - stood there while the Saudis kicked the pill straight at him. Made the easy look spectacular and for me just doesn't smile enough.
Aziz 'I'm gunna make ya my' Behich - 4 (extra point for the viking doo, despite him being Turkish Cypriot). Had a chance to redeem himself after the 'Shocker in Saitama' by getting a decent ball into the box after an overlapping 1st-half run…yeah nah, stuffed it up.
Big Harry 8 – The Scary Ranga was solid, great block to save a dead cert. Reading his lips as he was stretchered off – "Ey, jus a wee knock. I'll be right Jimmy"
Trent Sainsbury 6 – Another cut from the cloth of the 'No smile brigade'. Was very good till he coughed it up in the 2nd half and almost cost us the game
Rhyan Grant – 4 Sprays the ball and then turns round to blame his teammates. Nuff said.
Jimmy Jeggo 7 – Toe nail separated his passes from being intercepted in the back half. Holding midfielders don't get points for well just holding their position so can't see what all the fuss about his game was about. Serviceable.
Jackson Irvine – 3 get a haircut son, you may play better. NAMA (Not a midfielders…)
Ajdin Hrustic – 5 Seemed more concerned with how his shorts looked. Knocked a few lovely balls around in the first half but we've all played with those 'pass and admire your own work' players. Needs to work on his fitness. Faded.
Martin Boyle – 8 Class player in the team for me. Fought hard all game despite the service being rubbish. We need this bloke
Awer Mabil – 3 No left foot but started left side up front – another genius move by GA but hey the big dog was happy with a point
Matt Leckie – 6 Underdone but still almost won it for us. Physical threat showed when he knocked the Saudi bloke off the ball like he was shoving him out of the mosh pit. In racing parlance, Leckie will strip fitter and be better for the run
Subs
Duke – 5 Run around like a headless chook clattering into people which is exactly what you should do as a sub
Nabbout – 0 Did the opposite to Duke. Stood watching while his mates were trying to win the game. Not up to this level.
