My first time using chenille yarn. I wanted to try something simple just to get used to using this type of yarn.

It is very different to using any other yarn I’ve used before but it is soooo soft 🥰

Free no sew mini octopus pattern from Crochet by Genna which has a YouTube tutorial to follow 🙏🏻

I used Hobbii Toucan shade #17 with a 5mm hook

I think I maybe need to try a 4.5mm hook next time.

I am pleased with my first attempt.
Now for my next project … 😍

I’m desperate to start making plushies but not until I finish this project first. Nothing like a bit of motivation to complete a project.

My first cross stitch in a long time … and my first ever stamped cross stitch.

So far it seems so easy to follow. No counting. Once you get over the fact the colour it’s printed in isn’t the actual colour it’s full steam ahead. There’s also a printed chart included, all your threads plus a couple of needles … everything I need to get started.

I’ll be back with updates as I go.
