This one-day professional learning workshop is set up to offer information, insight, and inspiration to music educators as they enter the summer planning months. Calling all high school musicians! 🎼

Applications for the Marine Band’s 2025 Concerto Competition for High School Musicians are now open. Woodwind, brass and percussion players are eligible to apply for this year’s competition. The winner will appear as a guest soloist with the Marine Band during the 2025 concert season and receive a $2,500 scholarship from the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.

We are excited announce the appointment of Dr. Devan Moore as our new Assistant Director of Athletic Bands. Dr. Moore holds degrees from both FAMU and FSU, and has been serving in a similar capacity for the past two years at Oklahoma State University. She also has extensive experience as a public school band director in Florida. We are thrilled to have her joining our College of Music faculty and band staff. Welcome home, Dr. Moore!

CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT | In the mood to spend an afternoon listening to live chamber music in Washington, D.C.? Come join The Air Force Strings at St. John's Church, Lafayette Square on March 6th at 12:15 p.m. to hear an exciting program that strives to break down political barriers, promotes American composers, and encourages global dialogue through music. The Air Force Strings perform regularly at St. John's Church for their Midweek Music series and are looking forward to returning next week to share music by Johannes Brahms, Miroslav Skoryk, 'Blind Tom' Wiggins, and Antonio Vivaldi.

Please help us welcome our newest member to the band! Airman 1st Class Dylan Wilson-Criner is a trumpet player from Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He attended The University of Oklahoma for his undergraduate degree. In his free time he enjoys collecting records, discovering coffee shops, playing video games and playing with his two month old cat, Shadowheart.

The Health and Wellness committee would like to invite the clarinet community to join us in a 30-day challenge dedicated to self-care. Beginning on March 2 nd , we encourage everyone to spend whatever time available to them to practice self-care during the month of March. There is no way to fail this challenge—the goal is simply to dedicate one month to check in with your self-care practices. You can download the calendar for this challenge here:

Each Saturday in March, a new coloring page designed by Season Cowley will be shared for anyone to download and color. At the beginning of each week, we will also share weekly prompts to encourage different modes of self-care.Throughout the week, we encourage you to share photos of you engaging with those prompts or your responses to them! Share your colored in coloring pages and prompt photos/responses for a chance to be featured on the ICA social media pages!
