Some dealers and others have been making much mischief about distance that FM can achieve and indeed it can shock you. Plus remember when sporadic-e is around then all the rules are broken! Makes a change when finally can hear something interesting. As I’m in QRM central it’s always hard to have a good reception. Recorded earlier via the President Martin and Himalaya WB the American super bowl was heard. And remember it legally ok take a listen on 26.805 FM as many American stations are calling there too. A lot of messages about the Stryker in the past days. Mostly positive and some odd ones which went into the trash and don’t need any answer. Radio is a funny hobby. People believe this sort of stuff brings massive financial rewards where testing either unreleased or unknown radios (I’m doing this now an unknown radio) it’s for free. And the radio isn’t completed so it’s always a work in progress....

I’m in a very lucky position to be testing a pre-release SR955HPC from Stryker. This is the radio with the new board, Noise Reduction Circuit and while mine is not production ready we’ve had a look around and although like the others released with NRC voices sound sometimes robotic it appears “somehow” this radio has the least weird and odd noises although it does have some now and then....

My oh My something really interesting in the manual of the newest version 955 HPC with the small board. It has something called TTON & RTON. This means receive tone and transmit tone. The all new SR955HPC can both receive and transmit from 2.0 - 2.5 - 3.0 - 4.0 kHz but whether this is all mode or just AM mode I’m not sure at the moment, it needs more research....
