For the fifth time in its 18 year run, Feathertale has been nominated for best single issue at the National Magazine Awards. When we first won in that category back in 2012 one of our contributors tweeted that it was like watching your home videos win an Oscar. It still kind of feels that way. It has been a privilege to collaborate with so many talented writers and artists on this little magazine for so many years. Congrats also to our art team of Jenn Law, Kara Lynn and Lee H. Wilson who are nominated for Art Direction for the fourth year in a row.

Thank you Pages Book Emporium for the kind words about our little magazine.

The Feathertale Review has always raised staff eyebrows here at pages. The covers never fail to reel us in.

This Canadian magazine is devoted to high and low brow humourous content. Packed with original cartoons, interviews, works of poetry and short fiction this magazine will keep you entertained for hours.

This particular issue is daring you to dig out your address book because it is packed with postcards you’ll want to rip out and send to all your friends. And your frenemies!

Our personal faves are Welcome to Hugh Grant Rushmore and How My Cat Wakes me Up.

Be sure to pop down to the shop soon to check out this postcard special as it’ll only be on shelves for a short while longer.

We call Feathertale No.27 the most shareable issue ever, and maybe it is. Every story, poem and comic inside has been printed on removable postcards. The whole thing is designed to be dismantled and shared. But you can also keep it intact and add it to your bookshelf. Forty-four writers and artists contributed to this number. It’s a weighty issue, about as thick as a 400 page novel.

A rare glimpse of Feathertale from the press room floor. Our forthcoming issue is so thick it needs to be squished by industrial sized paper weights. Feathertale No.27 is an intensely attractive issue that you will literally want to tear apart (every story, poem and cartoon inside has been printed on fully removable postcards). The issue ships out next week. You can order it now on the Feathertale store https://feathertale.com/product/issue-27/

These photos come from our longtime printers in Winnipeg, home of the finest print shop between Portage La Prairie and East Braintree.

Tonight is Taddle Creek’s 25th anniversary. It’s also their last night as a magazine. They were an inspired, high quality publication and featured work by several Feathertale contributors over the years. Among the many gems in their final issue is this flexi disc (a forgotten feature of magazines from a certain era). The poet reading on the disc is Chris Chambers of Magazines Canada, Feathertale’s longtime distributor.
Congrats to Taddle Creek on a great run. We are sad to see you go.
