Vanuatu National Provident Fund has invested a further $9 million in the Unit Trust of Fiji, bringing their total investment to about $14 million. In addition, they signed an MOU for the establishment of Yumi Trust Fund in Vanuatu, similar to UTOF.

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum stated that the signing of the MOU illustrates interest and confidence from foreign investors who wish to explore and invest in Fiji.

The A-G noted that the number of tourism arrivals has increased significantly and the economy has grown rapidly, with revenue increasing significantly.

Similarly, Vanuatu National Provident Fund Chair, Parmod Achari, believes Fiji has significantly grown over the years, and we have all our aspirations and involvement within the country.

Additionally, Mr Achari believes that Fiji is the first and best place to invest and have confidence in its economic growth.

The Chief Executive Officer of Unit Trust of Fiji, Vilash Chand, commended the Fijian Government for introducing incentives for foreign investors. Mr Chand added that the MOU indicates VNPF’s strong belief in the Fijian economy and the way the economy has been growing and reshaping.
