In trying to sum up my thoughts about my experiences in 2023, one word rose to the top: grateful.
Grateful to again have my beacon in the wilderness.
Grateful to have my family and my friends.
Grateful to have loyal and engaged readers.
Grateful to have a hard working team behind my writing ventures.
Grateful for being given the opportunity to learn from most of my mistakes in my personal and writing lives.
Grateful for the opportunities right in front of me.

A beautiful country singer hires Rick to prove her estranged husband's su***de was really murder. He breaks his #1 rule and falls for Brianne even as he questions her motives. Will he get a chance at love?
#4: BLOOD TRUTH
A safe from his family home offers clues about why his father was kicked off the LJPD 27 years ago, and Rick is driven to uncover the truth. Then ‘one who got away’ hires him to find out if her husband is cheating on her or is into something shady. He is pretty unlucky in love.
#5: WRONG LIGHT
Nighttime DJ Naomi Hendrix is being stalked so her radio station hires Cahill to guard her and catch the stalker. He gets caught up in a kidnapping case and runs afoul of the cops…again.
#6: LOST TOMORROWS
Rick is hired by Leah, to investigate the death of her sister Krista, Rick’s former SDPD partner. Following the clues leads him to the truth about Krista's death and hints to the murderer of his wife. Leah offers hope, but can he accept it?
#7: BLIND VIGIL
Blinded from a gunshot to the face as he worked a collateral case, Rick’s rehabbed and starting another career. Then his former PI partner asks for his help to hear deceit if the client is lying in an interview. That client is arrested for murder so Cahill must uncover the truth to protect his former partner and free his former friend.
#8: LAST REDEMPTION (New release!)
Cahill happy? This can’t last so the expectant father is diagnosed with a fatal condition and is working with his former partner to find and protect her son. What could possibly befall Rick next? Plenty.

Each book in this series adds depth and fiber to the wounded almost hero Rick Cahill. Coyle continues to build this character Cahill with pain, granite and a bit of satirical humor as Coyle racks up multiple literary awards. This is a series to devour as you exist inside Cahill’s world. We cannot recommend this series enough, and most especially this most recent book, LAST REDEMPTION.
