Just want to give this page on Soundcloud a push; it's Alex Brown aka Vacancy; he's not on FB but is doing some superb deep/dubby electronic business, even a bit of D&B, which is seriously good. Was an ace night yesterday - excellent deepness with Jonathan Waring & Vacancy at The 212, plus I nipped out from there to play a 90-minute set at the Doghouse birthday round the corner from 10.30-midnight. I recorded the whole set at Doghouse, but sadly for the first half, the cable wasn't plugged in properly, so all you got was the crown noise & the music in the distance! However, the second half recorded fine, so this is the last 45 mins of my set last night. I also recorded some of the 212 sets but they also didn't come out properly either FFS (better cable required, I think...). Anyway, big up to Matt JL for getting me on to play a tougher set, as I'm generally booked for deeper/warmer sets & it's nice to chunk it up a bit now & again! Hope you enjoy, was a class night all round :) x

I had the honour of remixing the ledge that is Tommy Vicari Jnr for a vinyl-only release on Carlo Gambino's excellent Midnight Social Recordings a little while back (& I have to say, it's one of my most well-received remixes, had some brilliant feedback on it), so it's ace that I can host this release on the 3am Bandcamp page for Carlo - there are only 10 copies left here, with a further 5 in Sydney with Carlo (made sense to have more here in the UK to cut postage prices down! If you're closer to Oz, hit Carlo up...). There are two originals from Tommy, one remixed by Carlo in superb style & my aforementioned remix. Heading off to play at The 212 again this eve, this time on warm-up duty for the ace Rich & Rayees at their 'No Requests' night (got work in the morning, so no late one this eve!). So I thought I'd share this beauty from Nutty Nys which just landed in my inbox, went straight to his Bandcamp page & grabbed one of the mixes. I have to confess I wasn't aware of Nutty Nys until I saw a post from that connoisseur of all things wonderful, aka Danny Ward, recently & I'm extremely pleased I saw the post. A wealth of gorgeous deepness on that-there Bandcamp page! I'd seriously suggest checking it out & when you've done that, head to 212 (if you're in the Leeds locality of course....) x

Ace night at The 212 last night for pt.1 of the 3am Recordings 21st bday celebrations - big up to my Precinct partner Steve Lipscombe, superb beat selections flawlessly mixed as per, plus hugs to that man Pete Melba for joining us & laying down a perfect set, 100% in tune with what Steve & I play, picking choice deep jams from older cuts through to brand new 12"s, all quality ✌🏼 I'm chuffed to add that I'll be back there this coming Friday 12th, doing a spot of warm-up early door with the brilliant Rayees & Rich Carrick who'll be taking it through to 2am in fine style, so hopefully we'll see some of you there x

I've not done a "Nod To..." mix for a while, so as I've just grabbed the latest Edmondson EP on all my thoughts (which is outstanding, for those who've not checked it yet), I felt I'd do a mix of my fave tracks/remixes by Mr Sean Beeby aka Edmondson. The word 'sublime' probably sums up his sound, be it deeper house, beaty electronic vibes or more garagey outings, there's just a brilliant deepness which flows through all the tracks. I tend to lean more to the deep house/beats cuts overall on his releases, but there are some excellent garage-influenced bits too, so if you're a vinyl DJ & you dig a broad spectrum of sounds, I'd highly recommend checking Edmondson and also his superb Lissoms label too. In the meantime, here's just under an hour & half of superb music from the man himself. Enjoy x

As the label b'day is June, I felt I'd mark it with an EP from my good self, so I hope you dig these - the EP will be on general release across the main digi sites on June 17th, so this is an early opportunity for you to grab the WAVs for £1 a pop over at Bandcamp before its full release :) Got the music for the next few vinyl sorted too, so am hoping to be back on track with that at the end of this year or early into 2025. A little while back, myself and Auto Sound City, bosses at the excellent Weapons Of Desire label, did a joint 12", with a track from them on the A-side & one from me on the B. I've found some white labels, so have popped these onto the 3am Recordings Bandcamp page for a fiver - head to the link below to check it & if you wonder why the digital price is a grand, it's because this is vinyl-only & there's not a way on Bandcamp (that I can work out) where you can do a vinyl-only release, without adding the digital first, then attaching the vinyl to that release (if anyone knows a way, please enlighten me!)

I was asked by the ace John Ricketts if I'd provide a mix for the Likeminded Music page on YouTube, so I've done just that. But there's a bit of a twist to this one - all the tracks were picked by my awesome GF Leah Hester. To explain... after I'd done a gig at The 212 a little while back, I got home to find Leah had randomly selected a load of my records & was listening to them, without knowing what they were by site. So, we did that again on a night we stayed in, she picked some more & this mix is made of tracks from records she picked out & chose for the mix. 'Precinct' is a new venture from myself and fellow DJ Steve Lipscombe aka Inspired Sounds, we'll be hosting parties at venues across Leeds and beyond. Having been DJing together for a number of years at each other's events, it seemed only right that we joined forces for something together. This mix is a 2 & half hour vinyl mix from me, using predominantly records released in the last couple of years, along with some older bits added too, which echoes how we both play when DJing really.
