How It Happened

Dangerous Days Productions began, like so many great ideas, as naive theft. It was only by chance that I discovered the joys of Windows Movie Maker and tripods with wheels during the same month of high school that I discovered Blade Runner. The heady brew of teenage ambition and not knowing any better made the conclusion clear - I would make my own 20-minute Blade Runner rip-off for a class project. The assignment only required a five-minute short with most shots in focus and no star wipes.

In the meantime, I was running around my brother’s college campus in the seasonably late freezing rain, trying to make Northeast Ohio look like an urban dystopia in crumbling neon.

I called it Dangerous Days, a working title for Blade Runner.

It didn’t work, but the experience stuck.
